  My wife and I went to camping world sometime around May of 2026. We wanted to just walk around and see what was out there in terms of options for either a trailer or an RV. Unfortunately, camping world no longer allows you to just walk around in peace, they require appointments, you have to sit down with a salesman first, and you’re limited as to what they’re willing to show you based on your budget, even if you’re just trying to explore. We got Marcelo as the salesman we had to sit with and after 20+ minutes of being required to put all of my information down, we finally got to go see 3 RVs. We weren’t thrilled with any but we also weren’t there to buy, so after the awkward tour of being followed around the entire time, we went back inside and they drew up the estimates. We told them we weren’t ready to buy and it wouldn’t be until earliest, September this year. We also mentioned we would go to La Mesa RV next door and Marcelo proceeded to tell us how he’s the top sales guy at Camping World, he’s the best, La Mesa RV are rude and won’t help, and on and on. He said one of the RVs we looked at were really popular and only had 2 for sale across the whole country (shocker, he was as lying). He wouldn’t listen to us when we said we weren’t buying today and he kept trying to force a sale. He called us after we left (can’t remember how long after, I want to say about a week) to tell us that one of the RVs was really “hot” and if we wanted to buy it we should now. I said no, as we told you numerous times we wouldn’t be ready until the EARLIEST being September. Fast forward to September and he called me on Friday the 25th and I said we’re not interested at all. Then he called me Monday morning on the 28th, and tried to talk to me and I said “I literally JUST told you on Friday I wasn’t interested and you’re calling me back?”. Again, he doesn’t listen. My wife and I were uncomfortable with Marcelo and uncomfortable with the experience at Camping World. We both agreed we wouldn’t go back. Them calling us the first time in September makes sense but to call back within less than 72 hours after I said no? That adds to the discomfort and the lack of respect they have. Genuinely terrible experience and I hope others don’t have to have the same one we had.

  They worked with me on time schedule and appointment meetings. They answered my questions and the installation went smooth. The only complaint I have is the feeling of once its out the lot, they have the sale you're no longer a concern. They literally sold me a a trailer with a broken shower head, I notified them about it, they took a week not answering until I gave them a call. It literally felt a shrugged shoulder "oh well, what you want us to do" on their behalf, I know it's just a $9.99 shower head which is replaceable but it falls on the principle of selling broken goods and the inability to follow up on solutions.

  Can you give less than a 1 star..? The sales team here has truly perfected the art of lying just enough to get you to sign the paperwork and not get caught right before the ink dries. Absolute masters of the bait-and-switch. Horrific experience! STAY AWAAAAY!!

  Outstanding Experience at Camping World of San Diego! My wife and I recently purchased a new Rockwood travel trailer over Labor Day weekend at Camping World of San Diego, and we couldn't be more impressed with the exceptional service we received from the entire team. Even though the lot was extremely busy with customers going in and out, our sales representative, Matt Watanuki, was incredible. Despite being pulled in every direction, he somehow managed to make us feel like his absolute top priority. The cost negotiations went smoothly and reflected a true sense of mutual trust and respect between us and the management team. After settling on a great deal, we returned the following weekend to pick up our new trailer. The delivery and walkthrough process was seamless: Todd and Jesus did a fantastic job guiding us through the pre-delivery inspection, thoroughly demonstrating all the features and how to operate the various components. Carlos expertly installed and explained our load distribution hitch. Ricky, the parts manager, was a huge help in letting us swap out our ordered hitch for one that was a much better fit. Pineapple, the finance manager, made the paperwork process smooth and stress-free. To top it all off, we were personally greeted by the store manager, Clint, who made us feel genuinely valued as customers. Every single staff member we encountered treated us like a high priority while seamlessly managing a bustling showroom. Thank you to the entire Camping World of San Diego team for making our buying experience so wonderful!
