  I'm giving them 1/5 stars specifically regarding customer service. I have worked in automotive for nearly a decade, and I'm basing my opinion by comparing the interaction I had here with all the other interactions/business I have done with part stores. Usually I keep away from AutoZone to begin with because I am frequently met with an argument at the front desk that they need my phone number and vehicle information every time I try to order something. I then find myself waiting 5-10 minutes for them to try to find what I am looking for when I already had the exact item or part number they refused to look up without my phone number and vehicle information. Anyways I digress. This review is going to be split into 2 components, the first being about store policy. Situation: my girlfriends car battery died, and I don't mean drained, I mean she parked it and the next time she went to start it there was 0v. I attempted to trickle charge the battery for 2 days, checking it at various intervals and never got a single volt out of the battery. It was an optima yellow top battery with a factory date and a sticker of November 2024. (Warranty states 3 years from date of purchase) Issue #1: Store policy states without proof of receipt they will not warranty it. Since this battery was purchased for her by a company that she was volunteering for (at AutoZone in lakeside) we could not find the correct receipt via their lookup system and did not have a paper cover from a year and a half ago. Dealing with their competitors I have never had an issue with bringing in a failed component and having them warranty it. The other two big parts stores stand behind the products they sell and honor the warranty they sell with it. I will console a little bit being this may be an optima battery issue and maybe it's their bummer policy that carries into AutoZone. But then again you should do business with brands that have your back and the customers back and that makes me think twice about just going into AutoZone and purchasing something because if I have to fight to get a product warrantied I won't purchase it. The whole reason I'm spending the extra money buying it at a retail store over online is because of the service. Issue #2: The two people at the store when we arrived it felt like were on the other team. Now customer service is supposed to take care of the customer, one could say serving the customer... The lady was a bit nicer, but the gentleman was just so negative. It felt like he was trying to think of any possible reason not to help us and tell us he won't do anything. Not once were any suggestions for steps we could take made, just met with no we won't warranty it, no we don't care if it was purchased from an AutoZone, we don't care if there is a date stamp on it, without the original receipt they won't do anything. They then proceeded to speak Spanish to one another while in the middle of talking to us and then giggle at us. It was frankly rude, when you are interacting with someone you should be present in that conversation and to go speak another language and laugh at us was really unprofessional. Not happy with my experience at AutoZone again. I have reached out to optima via their website to see if they will be any better about standing behind there product

  Absolutely exceptional service from Jeffrey. I just came in for my key fob battery that had died. Jeffrey not only found the perfect battery for my key, but literally installed it right in front of me. And showed me how to install it if it ever happened again. Jeffrey was such a phenomenal autozone representative that if I could, I would give him a raise!

  They provide the BEST customer service! I came here for a second option after someone from ACE Hardware told me to get a new car battery even though the car ran fine with no battery light on the dash. The nicest guy from AutoZone came out to our car to test the battery using the voltmeter. Turns out the battery is in really good health! We don't need a new battery! AutoZone saved us from an expensive mistake. I will definitely be back when I actually do need something for my car!

  I had an emergency & needed to stop to get some oil. Rosanna (or Roxanna, I don’t remember her name) was super helpful and pointed me towards the right products so I was able to do it myself. She was thoughtful, professional and very kind !!
