  Checked in at 1215am at SMF after hours of delays in SFO… so I was not in a great mood. The person who helped me (I wish I remembered her name!) was SO lovely. Warm, friendly and efficient.   Coming from the south no sign indicates Alamo that we saw. We had to go up and make a u-turn. Seems to be lacking significant signage. Other than that good experience!

  I rented from Alamo SMF. The car mirrors and back window were dirty. The note on the window shield showed that the car was 2K miles over maintenance time. It was economy car, however for the first time during my many rentals there were no communication between my Iphone and the car (Google Play or similar), so no route prompts. It never happened before. If I knew it beforehand I would rent another car. Alamo mechanic who was on site said he doesn't know why it happens. Also Alamo Return Agent said I did a dent on the passenger door which I didn't do. There was kind of scratch and not dent, but I didn't do it. I think an employee should be present on site during rental, there should be pictures of the car and the contemporary economy car should be able to pair with the iphone.

  As far as Alamo rental locations go, this was definitely one of the most positive experiences I've had. There were a few upsell attempts at the desk (insurance, gas, the usual)--but nothing to make someone feel uncomfortable. In retrospect, we would have benefitted from buying gas through Alamo as the gas station closest to the Sacramento airport charged exorbitant prices. Bob, the gentleman who walked us to our car, was quite possibly the kindest human I've ever encountered. He offered us cold waters (there was quite a heat wave), had us wait in the shade, and even gave us great recommendations on routes to avoid. Bob for Alamo mascot!

  Wonderful experience at Alamo Rent A Car in SMF. From the check in process to return process, everything was great. We rented a nice Acura ADX, still smelled brand new. We did experience a flat tire, but Alamo went above and beyond to help us. We will definitely rent with Alamo again next time we return to SMF. Thank you so much!
