  Huge selection. Prices are good. This Saturday had lots of great deals. I took my 2-1/2 yr old granddaughter and she was entertained for over 2 hrs. Great time and great kids selection

  I had a very disappointing experience at Bass Pro Shops\. My uncle and I drove about 45 minutes through traffic because we planned on buying ammunition\. At first, the employee was helpful, but once it came time to complete the purchase, everything changed\. The employee asked my uncle for his ID and birth certificate\. He claimed the writing on the birth certificate was too faded to read and even suggested that it looked fake\. Then three employees gathered to inspect the birth certificate, which made us feel like they assumed it wasn’t legitimate\. After examining it, they acknowledged that it was a real document, but they still refused to sell the ammunition because they said parts of it couldn’t be read\. They also pointed out that my uncle’s ID was missing a letter in his name and used that as another reason not to complete the sale\. Then they said the Frontier bill he brought wasn’t acceptable proof of residency and that it needed to be something like a water bill\. My uncle has purchased firearms and ammunition at other stores before and has never had any of these issues\. By that point, it honestly felt like they were looking for any reason not to complete the sale\. We understand that businesses have the right to verify identification and follow the law, but the way this situation was handled was embarrassing and disrespectful\. Having three employees inspect his documents while questioning whether they were legitimate made us feel unfairly singled out\. I can’t say for certain why we were treated this way, but the experience left us wondering whether discrimination or racial bias played a role\. We have never experienced anything like this at any other store\. After driving 45 minutes just to be treated this way, we left extremely disappointed\. I hope Bass Pro Shops reviews how situations like this are handled so customers are treated with professionalism, fairness, and respect\.
