Very frustrating experience here, not that all of it was the stores fault. Placed an order for a new windshield on 6/24/26 for an installation on 6/28/26. They called on 6/27 to cancel because the windshield supposedly came in damaged. I get that things happen sometimes, said they'd call me back in a day to reschedule. Two days go by and no one called, so I called them back. Again I was told they'd look into it and call me back. Guess what? No one did. Spoke with Chris again on 7/7 and he told me he was escalating to his District Manager and that he would call me. Never heard from him either. Starting to see a pattern here? I had to call every time to get information. Called again this morning (7/9/26) and they don't know what's going on because the parts department isn't answering. I asked for the District Managers email address and they told me they're not allowed to give out the DM's company email. What? I'm a Regional Manager for a national company and I can't imagine telling the people that work for me they're forbidden from giving CUSTOMERS my WORK email. DM's and RM's need to hear from customers to get a more accurate picture of what's going on from a customer service perspective in their district/region for any training opportunities. Amber called me back this morning to let me know that yet another windshield came in damaged, but if I wanted to go with a different glass manufacturer it would cost more money, and it was already over $1000.00. I appreciated her call but that was the last straw, so I scheduled with American Auto Glass and will be fixed within 24 hours with an OEE windshield from a premium glass (Pilkington) manufacturer and the price includes recalibrations of all sensors and a lifetime warranty on the glass and was less expensive.

Was able to get my windshield replacement scheduled and done quickly. There is a lot of communication with the customer. The shop employees did a great job. The only thing is I was quoted a price for new wipers by the Safelite phone rep and there was a higher charge when I got to the shop. Possibly a miscommunication. I said I did not want to get wipers in that case and the front desk person immediately took the wipers charge off. I paid my insurance deductible and that was it. So far, after two days, everything looks fine with my new windshield.

I had to wait over a week for an OEM windshield. I was able to get an appointment the next day after it arrived. I was notified a few hours after dropping off my car that when installing the windshield with the suction cups the new windshield cracked. I was then asked if I could leave my car overnight so they could replace that windshield in the morning. I agreed, then was called shortly afterwards it would be a week before the replacement would arrive. They stated I would need to come pick up my car, they would install the new broken windshield. The original break in my windshield was by the rear view mirror about 6”. The new windshield had several very large/long cracks all over it. I questioned how safe this was and told it will not break on me. After paying my $500 deductible (because as I was told “they did replace the windshield”’ I get home and a little later was told it would be two weeks to get my windshield. So, not the best experience. First photo is original windshield, second photo is sitting in the drivers seat looking through the new windshield.

An appointment was set for the repair at my home on Friday. A tech came and determined that the crack could not be repaired and the windshield would need to be replaced. So, an appointment was made for the following Monday from 12-4 at my home. On Monday a tech named Romario called and said he would probably be here between 12-2. At 4:30 I called his phone number but I could not leave a voicemail bc the vm system had not been set up. I called my insurance company and they said it was determined that I would have to bring my car in to a Safelight location to get it repaired. I then set an appointment for the following day AT Safelite. I explained what happened and he told me they could have done it at my home. So, after the first appointment, waiting over 4.5 hours for the tech to show up, calling insurance to set up a new one and the 2h at Safelite you could conclude I was not happy! This was a 7+ hour ordeal! I’ll use another company next time!
