  On September 4th, I had one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had at an AutoZone. I came in around 9 PM to buy a car battery, and there was still a full hour before closing time. After I purchased the battery and completed the payment, the employee told me to come back the next day because they were “about to close.” He did not mention this before the purchase or payment. This was completely unacceptable, especially since installing a battery takes less than 10 minutes. The employee who handled my installation did not speak English at all, which made communication very difficult. After some discussion, he finally agreed to install the battery — and that was a mistake. The installation was careless and unprofessional. He damaged the battery terminal connector and lost the battery hold-down bolt. When I went to the manager to report the issue and ask for a solution, I was shocked by his attitude. The manager spoke Spanish, but instead of making an effort to resolve the problem professionally, he showed a very poor attitude and refused to take responsibility for the mistake caused by his employee. This location clearly needs better management, better communication with customers, and employees who understand basic customer service. Customers should not have to deal with this level of carelessness and lack of accountability after paying for a product and service. I strongly hope AutoZone reviews this location and takes action to improve the way customers are treated.

  I’ve visited four different Autozone stores in the last two weeks. One was in Pomona, CA, and the other three were in Chula Vista, San Ysidro, and National City. A common issue I’ve noticed is that any store pickup orders placed online are never ready when I arrive. Every time I’ve arrived expecting my order to be ready, I’ve been asked what I ordered and then taken a long time to get my products and order fulfilled. This is frustrating because the online ordering system for store pickup is supposed to ensure that I’m ready to go when I arrive. Another issue is that I’ve been trying to find a specific AC recharge product, but I keep getting told that they don’t manage it yet. However, the app states that it’s in stock. Not once have any of the associates looked up the part number and actually checked to see if they have it. Finally, I shouldn’t be able to place an online order for store pickup for an item that isn’t actually in stock if that really is the case but I honestly think the associates are just lazy and if they don’t physically see a product they simply say they don’t have it.

  Special shout out to Mr. Jose Martinez for outstanding customer service, knowledge and skills! He helped me find the right tools to replace my tail light and even assisted me. Highly recommend Autozone Highland Ave in National City!!!

  Whoever was working at 9 am reg 2 on 08/28 ring up my purchases, you didn’t ask for my phone number just in case i lose my receipt, didn’t tell me that you offered military discounts, and overall did not want to be there or help me. I’m a woman but no problem to the men you helped out around me and asked them. Something as small as a transaction you can’t even provide good customer service, ITS NOT THAT HARD.

  I went to 2140 Autozone in Highland National City to purchase 5 gallons of Mobile 1 oil and oil filter. The associate charged me twice instead of doing even exchanged with the same brand. I got notification from my bank. I told the associate name Adrian to return my money. He did not return it. He charged me again. He also claim to be a manager when they have a different manager posted on their door. He did not apologized for the mistakes he created. He was telling me I know how to sell. Definitely, he needs to work on his customer service ethics. I use to be a sales associate and I know how to treat a customer with gratitude.It’s bad service. Also, it says if you buy and 5 gallon oil you get a free filter. It’s a false advertisement!
