  I travel for work. A lot. I also get to travel for pleasure. This was one of those trips. My family flew into Arcata for a few days for a family wedding. I thought we might be able to get by with UberXL. After a wait for our first ride and a conversation with our friendly UberXL driver (Kyle) and learning that there are only two XLs in the county, we decided that we needed a better alternative. A last minute check on the app showed a minivan available, so I reserved one. Then I read the reviews. Needless to say, they did not instill confidence. I called when they opened the next morning and contrary to many other reviews, they answered the phone. They confirmed the van existed, and the reservation. And that the van would be waiting for me when I arrived. (Other reviewers had complained of vehicles unavailable.) Everything went smoothly when I arrived. Because ACV is a small airport, the rental car counters have limited hours. Which is fine. The reason for the four star review, instead of five, is because I had to call to find out where the after-hours key drop box was. Don't get me wrong, there were signs for it, but I am not an observant person, and didn't see them. A simple way to resolve this is to ask each customer if they will be returning after (or in our case, before) hours. I imagine many do. I rely on reviews when I travel so I wanted to help others that may read them also. Having the availability of our own vehicle allowed us to see and do more than we would have otherwise.

  DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND LEAVE YOU STUCK AND REFUSE TO FIND A SOLUTION. Grant hung up on me after promising a replacement "tomorrow" multiple days in a row. Either he or his boss, Raymond, lied about what was clearly communicated. They have less than 24 hours to resolve this or we will be stuck leaving suitcases and hundreds of dollars in clothing behind. If they actually fix it, the review will be edited. Ive rented cars from dozens of places and only ever had minor issues which were always resolved quickly and professionally. This is opposite. Spending hours on phone calls for rental car issues during a vacation and being lied too repeatedly is unacceptable.

  We rented a SUV but was given an Audi . The audi is VERY low to the ground and not the car we reserved. I am a short person and couldnt see over the steering wheel. We were able to get the SUV equivalent the next day but was very unhappy we weren't given what we reserved originally. All was forgiven but in the future I really would like the car we reserved or something like it in the future.

  I got a car with only 1.4 gallon of gas left. It's impossible to return with such low level. When I started the engine, it told me that I only have 20mi to go. I ended up return with 6.9 gallon. Basically National is tricking and ripping off the customers. I know gas price is high nowadays but don't play the trick please. Are you testing my obsession level?
