  We live in Brentwood and someone told me once that out-of-town visitors should not rent a car at LAX, because it's much more expensive to rent there. We should rent closer to Brentwood, I was told. I recently rented an SUV at Enterprise, on Santa Monica Blvd. (near the 405) and was going to pick up our family visitors at LAX. When I first arrived at Enterprise, the rep suggested our visitors (two adults, two kids and a dog) might want a bigger SUV and I was offered an upgrade at a very reasonable upcharge. As it turns out, the bigger SUV came in very handy. One day, we joined them on a day trip, so now we were up to four adults, two kids and a dog. We had plenty of room, thanks to our very helpful Enterprise rep who nudged me to go with the bigger SUV.

  I had a great experience with this Enterprise Rent-A-Car location! Luke Williams was extremely helpful, professional, and easy to work with throughout the entire rental process. He made everything quick, smooth, and stress-free while providing outstanding customer service. It's rare to find someone who genuinely goes above and beyond to make sure you're taken care of.   Disappointing first experience — poor communication and inventory issues I’ve always heard great things about Enterprise, but my first experience was a major letdown compared to what I usually get with Sixt or Midway. I booked a Toyota Corolla (Compact), but when I arrived to pick it up, the agent didn't say a word about inventory issues. We walked out to the lot, and he just handed me the keys to a Nissan Versa—which is an Economy car and a clear step down in category. He didn't even bother to mention the downgrade until I spoke up and pointed it out. When he finally offered to adjust the price for the smaller car, he only knocked off a single dollar, which felt like a joke given the class difference. On top of that, the car was only at 3/4 of a tank when I got it. While they told me I could bring it back at 1/2 tank to make up for it, it’s still frustrating to start a trip having to worry about immediate fueling logistics. The return process on Saturday went smoothly, but it is now Sunday and I still haven't received my electronic receipt, despite being promised it would be emailed immediately. To be fair, the counter agent was perfectly friendly and polite, but the lack of transparency, the sneaky downgrade, and the delayed receipt left me very disappointed. I don't think I'll be switching away from my usual rental companies after this.

  Luke Williams was wonderful from picking me up from the body shop and dropping me off when the car was ready. And he matched me with my future car, that I wanted to buy after renting it. And Luke connected me with enterprise car sales dept for that. He is amazing and great customer service. It was such a pleasure working with him and the team at Santa Monica location.
