  Im locked outside my car and see that the autozone near me is still open, it closes it 20 minutes. I call ahead and tell the guy and explain my situation and that I'm not far I was already walking while on the phone, he agrees and says they're closing late at 10:10. When I arrived the guy was timid and slammed the door in my face. I've explained I was the one on the phone and he treated me as if I had malicious intent. This was a racist altercation and I hope a manager sees this review.

  On 6/18/26 I called this location and spoke with Eddie, who said they had a starter in stock and would set it aside. When I arrived, I again spoke with Eddie at the counter, but the part had not been reserved. At the counter, Eddie said it can be “normal” to replace a starter about once a year on older vehicles like my 2005 due to aging wiring and related issues. I questioned this, and my mechanic later strongly said that is not true. In general, my impression was that some counter staff may speak with confidence about mechanical issues beyond their actual hands-on repair experience, which can make it difficult to rely on their guidance. I purchased the starter, but my mechanic later determined it appeared used and could not install it due to visible wear and electrical tape on a wire. I returned to another location to exchange it and asked why I was given a part that did not appear new, but did not receive a clear explanation. Overall, the experience involved poor communication and receiving a part that did not match what was expected.

  6.18.26 I had I had a failing starter under warranty so I called this location and talked to Eddie. he said they had one starter available and I asked him to set it aside. He said he would set it aside. When I arrived I talked to Eddie at the counter and told him about my starter and why do I have to replace my starter every year . He tried to tell me that it's about normal to replace a starter every year or so with a 2005 vehicle cuz of old wires etc. I seriously doubted this but didn't argue. Sometimes these guys behind the counter like to talk as if they're experts but they probably couldn't actually even change your oil. So I asked for the replacement starter and he had to go look for it because he had NOT actually set it aside for me. All the while he has this glib cocky look on his face. I pay $230 for the starter which will be refunded when I return the old one. I bring the starter to the mechanic and he takes one look at it it says he cannot put this on my vehicle because it's already been used. I didn't examine it at the store so I didn't notice that it was already dirty, had grease on i, and there's a piece of electrical tape on one of the wires. What the hell ?! So I have to go to another location and swap it and I ask them "why did I get a used one when it's supposed to be brand new?"( not even remanufactured which also should look fairly new anyways). the two female employees just smiled and shrugged their shoulders. No sweat off their back. Good grief ☹️
