  I am a SIXT Platinum member, and I have been a loyal SIXT customer for a long time. Whenever I travel, SIXT is usually my first choice for rental cars. Unfortunately, my recent experience with the Huntington Beach branch was very disappointing and far below the standard I have come to expect from SIXT. First, when I was picking up the car, a female staff member told me that I was required to use a physical credit card to pay the security deposit and that Apple Pay was not accepted. She specifically said this was a requirement of this particular branch. If this is indeed an official SIXT policy, I would expect it to be clearly documented and consistently communicated to customers. Second, my reservation was for an 11:00 AM pickup, but the car was not ready because it had not been properly cleaned. I did not receive the vehicle until around 11:30 AM. A 30-minute delay may not sound significant, but when you have a travel schedule, it is frustrating to wait for a car that was supposed to be ready at the reserved pickup time. More seriously, on the second day of my rental, the dashboard started displaying “Change Engine Oil Soon.” I had to spend my own time finding a repair shop to have the vehicle checked because I was concerned about whether the car was safe to drive. Then, on the third day, the warning changed to “Change Oil Required.” I had to contact SIXT Roadside Assistance again to ask what I should do. I understand that vehicles can occasionally have maintenance issues. However, an engine oil service warning appearing on the second day of a rental, and then becoming “Change Oil Required” on the third day, strongly suggests that the vehicle was not properly checked and maintained before being handed over to a customer. As a Platinum member and a long-time SIXT customer, I expect a much higher standard of service. I chose SIXT repeatedly because I trusted the brand, but this experience caused me unnecessary stress, required multiple phone calls, and, most importantly, wasted a significant amount of my travel time dealing with a maintenance issue that should have been addressed before the vehicle was rented out.

  alex he went above & beyond to make sure my needs were met & that i left with a positive experience. i originally came in to pick up a bmw x3, but unfortunately, it needed to be serviced and i came in on a friday, during a heat wave & just like your average employee, he could’ve done the bare minimum & put me in a volvo mom car, but instead he chose to take the time to explore every possible option and truly went the extra mile to get me into the m sport. employees like alex are truly an invaluable asset to a company’s success. his professionalism, knowledge, genuine care, and commitment to the customer experience are exactly what build customer loyalty & ultimately scale a business forward. the huntington beach location is extremely lucky to have him. give him a raise immediately 💅

  Sixt in Huntington Beach is the best rental experience I have had in my entire life. Other rental companies wanted $1,800 for a 5 day rental due to holiday rates. Not SIXT! They gave me a price that was more affordable than anyone at $570 including tax. Sean greeted me at the front desk and was attentive to what I needed. I was in and out of the door in under 10 minutes. I can't stress enough that I will never use another company to rent from. Sixt has earned a customer for life and I will be recommending them to everyone I know. If you need a car in HB or OC make the effort to go to this team. The manager was extremely helpful and polite upon returning the vehicle. They even kept my parking pass that I forgot. Top team. Top service. Top prices. Top rental experience. SIXT is my go-to company now when I need a rental car.

  As mentioned in my previous review… What really made this rental stand out, though, was the exceptional customer service. The associate who helped us was incredibly kind, patient, and professional. He let us take our time comparing three different vehicles and never rushed us while my teens studied each one. I let them make the final decision, which they appreciated. To top it off, he surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the Lincoln Nautilus. I could genuinely tell he was excited for our family and our adventure. Since there wasn’t a line behind us, he took the time to make the experience special, and it truly left a lasting impression.
