  Ray, Johnny, and the entire staff were very professional from day one. Communication was clear throughout the process, and they kept me updated every step of the way. When I picked up my car, it was repaired perfectly, clean, and fully detailed. The attention to detail and customer service exceeded my expectations.   I had a great experience with Johnny’s Custom Auto Body after my Corvette was rear-ended. From the beginning, Ray walked me through the entire repair process and kept me informed every step of the way. His communication and professionalism made a stressful situation much easier to deal with. What really stood out to me was the level of customer service. After the repairs were completed, I noticed a minor issue with the vehicle. Ray personally drove to my house to inspect it himself. Even though the issue was not caused by their work, he still made sure it would be addressed at my next appointment. That level of care and accountability is hard to find. They also worked very well with my insurance company and made sure everything was handled properly throughout the process. Overall, I was extremely happy with the quality of service, professionalism, and attention to detail. I would highly recommend Johnny’s Custom Auto Body to anyone needing auto body repairs. -Rob

  I had a terrible experience with Johnny's custom auto body. I drive a tesla, which unfortunately got stuck in a ditch at a campground in Big Sur. There was no collision, we just slid in the very loose dirt near the edge of the road. It was a very complicated extraction; the tow truck that was sent out was too big to drive up behind me due to the very narrow campground road. So the driver towed me out by the right front tire, 7000 lbs of car being pulled out by one tire. Naturally, there was significant damage to the steering and wheel alignment and suspension, in addition to some exterior dents and scrapes. I took the car to Johnny's for an estimate and hopefully repair. Upon talking to my AAA insurance company, I was informed that since the damage was caused by a tow, I needed to have the damage repaired by AAA Roadside assistance - but only after I first talked to the tow yard about a possible resolution. The tow yard took 2 days to get back to me, then AAA roadside took 2 days to get back to me. I talked to Johnny about this; he was determined to point the finger at me each time I spoke to him, saying the accident was my fault, the delays were my fault, and I was the one who decided to go with AAA roadside. I ultimately made the decision to have the car towed to a local reputable body shop that had done good work for us in the past in order to get a second estimate, as the one Johnny gave was extremely high. I had to pay the bill before they would release my car from Johnny's - it was $855 for their estimate. But the final amount I was charged was $2157. I was charged $250 for each of the days I was waiting for people to get back to me so we could proceed with the repair. I called Johnny personally to ask if he could give me a break on the $250 a day, he dug in, saying no, and started with the blame game again. He was neither courteous nor the least bit professional, and I was out $2157 for work that wasn't done. I hope this gives you the reader a feeling about the way this business is run. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

  We live in the Gilroy area. I Googled places in Gilroy for autobody work and Johnny's popped up and had ALL good reviews. When I called the phone was answered on the 1st ring. Nico, was so nice and patient with me and was able to answer all my questions. Best customer service ever. We recommend this shop for all your auto needs. When we picked up our truck it was completely 'detailed clean' inside and out!!! ❤️
