They had no solution except to go to San Jose, but I need a car to get to San Jose and also needed that car to be somewhere this morning. People at the location were friendly but the lack of cars was a non-starter

I chose “you click we pick” and when I got there I requested anything but a Versa (due to the fact both times i had rented one they had broke down probably would have this time too if I had the car more than a day). They tried to charge me extra for “an upgrade” even though the option I chose was for compact or larger. They told me the car had a quarter tank when it had less than a quarter tank , I returned it with more. The car also had a chip in the windshield that got slightly bigger during the short time i had it. The senors for seatbelts would go off despite no one sitting in the seat and not much stuff being on it. I usually rent from the Salinas office but unfortunately this was the closest place with after hours returns which was helpful.
