- EAEstephanie Barrios AlonzoSep 12, 20261.0I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience at Lube Plus near Shields and Chestnut. My brother-in-law called ahead and was originally quoted approximately $169 plus tax for a transmission-fluid change. When I arrived, I was told the quote was incorrect and the price would actually be $190 plus tax. Then another employee named Jordan came over, changed the price again to $300, and ultimately said they could not perform the service at all. Having the price change multiple times—from roughly $169 to $190 and then $300—felt misleading and extremely unprofessional. It was also concerning that my brother-in-law received one price over the phone, but the amount continued increasing after I arrived as a woman. Whether intentional or not, the experience left me feeling that I was being treated differently and potentially overcharged. Businesses should provide clear, consistent pricing and confirm whether they can perform a service before asking a customer to come in. I left without the service and with no confidence in their honesty or communication. I would not recommend this location based on my experience.
