  Penske really dropped the ball on this one. I reserved a hydraulic lift gate truck a week in advance, and the representative confirmed it would be here for a 9am pickup today. To my surprise, they didn’t have it — they figured a truck with a pullout ramp would suffice instead. Very incompetent, and apathetic about leaving customers on the hook when so much of my planning and logistics was contingent on having a lift gate, which left me scrambling last-minute to rearrange everything the day of. I spoke to the Penske Sacramento District office and they weren’t able to source me a truck either. Whether it was an intentional bait-and-switch to get me in the door or just poor planning on their part, it’s not a good look for Penske. If you want to gamble with truck availability, just know that going in. You might turn out fine, but this puts them in my book as a highly unreliable truck vendor that does not honor reservations accordingly.
