I brought my 2023 Mercedes EQS 450 to Safelite for a windshield repair/replacement after being referred there by GEICO. Before the work was done, I was not clearly informed that Safelite did not have the ability to perform the necessary ADAS/sensor calibration for my Mercedes after the windshield replacement. After the windshield was replaced, I was told that the vehicle needed to be taken to Mercedes for calibration. This resulted in an additional two days without my vehicle, additional Uber transportation expenses, and an extra $320 charge from Mercedes. Even more concerning, I was required to sign a waiver before driving the vehicle because the sensors had not yet been calibrated. For a vehicle like a Mercedes EQS, this is a significant safety issue and something the customer should be told about before authorizing the windshield replacement. If Safelite does not have the equipment or capability to properly calibrate the sensors on a particular vehicle, customers should be informed upfront and given the option to take the vehicle directly to the manufacturer or another qualified facility. Since the insurance coverage/approved glass cost was essentially the same, I would have chosen Mercedes from the beginning if I had known this would be required. I believe Safelite should be much more transparent with customers about the complete repair process, calibration requirements, potential additional costs, and expected downtime before the work begins. I would not have used Safelite had I been given this information upfront.

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Safelite does not care about their customers or the job they do. Not only did the technician fail to mention very important information prior to starting the job but he also failed to mention the damage that was done to my vehicle. Now there’s air coming into the cabin but somehow according to Safelite they still did a job well done and my car is safe to drive. A complete joke. Oh and the manager Q? Ha good luck getting him on the phone. Dude be out here dodging and ducking like resolving these situations his technicians cause isn’t his job. Safelite refund me my money, it’s not that hard to say “sorry we messed up” own up!

Zero communication and no-show! Booked a 7 AM mobile service appointment. Nobody showed up, nobody called, and their customer support phone numbers are just dead ends with automated messages. Wasted my entire morning. Avoid Safelite if you value your time!
