We called in yesterday to order up some parts for a Mercedes and were told that they could have the parts there in an hour. We never received that phone call, lost track of time and raced over to the location just in time for them to lock the door as we were arriving at exactly 5pm. which is fine and I get that closing time is closing time and for the most part is non-negotiable. Then I call in this morning to ask if the parts were there and available. I spoke with Dan and he placed me on a brief hold to check and came back on the line and said the parts were there. I asked him what the total was and was told he didn't look at the tag. I asked if there was a way I could know the total so I could bring the right amount of cash and was then told "I don't want to get back up and go over there because it hurts". I understand people work with ailments and disabilities and am absolutely ok with that but when it hinders the job getting done correctly and simple information being relayed then it becomes an unprofessionalism issue for me. I work in the customer service industry and am always making sure I am pleasant, polite, and helpful even in tough times and when I'm not in the best of mood! This is how the industry should be and we are losing it!! If I were Dan, I would have placed the call on hold and maybe asked someone who was closer to the tag to call out the total or I would have looked at it while I was there in case there were any other questions about the items or pricing especially if I didn't want to have to get up and again walk over to find the info someone was requesting. You guys can do better!! Hire some young bucks around there to help the senior staff out!!
