  This marks the third time I have stood at the register waiting to check out for five minutes while the employees just bs in the back with each other and ignore the fact that they have customers.

  I am extremely disappointed with AutoZone’s handling of what should have been a straightforward warranty claim. I recently purchased a vehicle that came equipped with a Duralast Gold battery, an AutoZone-exclusive product that carries a 3-year warranty. The battery has a date code of September 2025, meaning it was only about nine months old when I brought it to AutoZone because the vehicle was experiencing hard-starting issues. After testing the battery, AutoZone confirmed that the battery was defective. However, they then refused to honor the warranty because I was not the original purchaser. While I can understand a manufacturer limiting warranty coverage on nationally branded products sold through multiple retailers, this is an AutoZone-exclusive battery sold under AutoZone’s own brand. To be clear, this is not a criticism of the local store or its employees. The staff were courteous and simply followed the rules they were given. My frustration is with a corporate policy that ties the hands of store employees and leaves customers with a failed battery that is well within the warranty period but effectively has no warranty value once a vehicle changes ownership. The fact that AutoZone acknowledges the battery is defective, confirms it is still well within the warranty period, and yet refuses to stand behind its own product because ownership of the vehicle changed is disappointing. A warranty should reflect confidence in the quality of the product, not simply the name on the receipt. For a battery that failed after only nine months of use, I expected much better customer service and support from a company that promotes the reliability of its Duralast products. Policies like this do little to inspire confidence in the value of AutoZone’s warranties.

  Autozone ha built their reputation with free installs. They also do not offer a time restriction for tis service. I purchased two batteries that the refused to install because it was after 6 pm. I continued to insist before they conceded and installed the batteries.

  Store looked organized and clean. Employee was having a bad day and didn't feel like answering any questions. Hope he is ok, he brought his personal life to work today.
