  ★★★★★ Excellent experience with National Car Rental from start to finish. The vehicle was clean, ready to go, and had a full tank of gas. I really liked the convenience of being able to choose any car in the aisle and get on my way quickly. The lady working at the exit kiosk was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, professional, and started my trip off with a great attitude. Customer service like that makes a big difference. Great job, National. I will definitely rent again.

  I have been using National Car Rental for over 10 years for both my professional and personal travel, and they have never let me down. The entire process of picking up and returning a vehicle is incredibly simple, fast, and seamless. What I appreciate most is their complete transparency—I have never run into hidden fees, unexpected charges, or any nitpicking over excess damage or cleaning fees. They just make renting a car entirely stress-free. I highly recommend National for their exceptional customer service and consistency!

  I was disappointed……. That I didn’t find them first! Great experience at the counter, team member came and got me, and took care of a last minute booking easily and at a great price! (because the other company that we booked with, had no availability when we showed up!). Great experience at greeting downstairs, great experience picking out the car. At that point I wouldn’t have cared what basic car I was going to drive because of how happy I was with the staff, but they went above and beyond there too, and upgraded us to a pristine Ford Bronco, the car was perfect, but the staff made the difference. All around great experience, this was Phoenix airport National car rental 06/25/26 around 8:00pm. Shoutout to the team member downstairs, believe she was from HR. Big help, great at your job, and made me feel good!

  I travel 35 weeks a year and rent a lot of cars. I left Hertz because the cars were dirty and smelled like marijuana. I left Sixt because although their prices were low, the attempted to nickel & dime you with small damage claims long after you turned in the car. I've been using National and it has been great - clean cars, ready when you show up, quick departure and return; until last week's rental. When I returned, they had a whole team of people focused on the cars condition, trying to find any little bit of damage, they kept me their waiting for them to finish for a good 15 minutes, then pointed out two small nicks in the paint (one on the back bumper and one under the passenger door, on a car with 20,000+ on it when I picked it up in a dark garage. My comment was: if you want to change your business model to mimic Sixt and nickel & dime regular customers for damage they may or may not of caused or been able to see in a dark garage when picking up the vehicle, you better lower your prices to match Sixt's pricing. I hope this was a one off experience and not the new National approach!

  The rental car center is located away from the airport, but can be reached by a train from the airport after a short ride. The variety of cars when we arrived in the evening on a Friday night was quite good, especially in the Executive section. The Jeep Compass that we selected only had 1300 miles on it and took good care of us while we were in Arizona. We had one minor issue with the car, and that was that the license plate on the rear only had one screw in it and started rattling shortly after we left the airport. I was able to fix it by buying a screw kit. The staff here were very friendly, but this location had the most intense check-in I've ever seen at a National Location. They went over the car 3-4 times looking for scratches and pits in the glass, I've never had that done at other National locations in other parts of the country. My only disappointment was when they asked how the rental went and I told them about the license plate screw, they didn't offer to cover the cost of that. It was only $3, but they still should have offered to cover that cost. Overall, National is still a great place to rent a car.
