I did not have a good experience renting from you this time. The process felt uncomfortable and not trustworthy. When I was picking up the car the woman said I should videotape the car before I leave and before I return. There have been cases where customers receive charges for damage they have not caused. She also sold me insurance even though I had already paid for insurance. The car that I ended up choosing had a horrible smell that was there the whole time I had the car. When I was driving out the woman at the booth got out of her work area went to the back of the car and crouched down. She did not explain what she was doing so it felt suspicious. When I returned the car the gentleman picked up that I did not have the best experience. He asked multiple times how he could make it better but ultimately did nothing. He also took out a tool to measure a mark that was already on the car. He said he could check the system to see if it was already there but why should I be made to feel like I did something wrong. Renting a car from you this time just made me feel uneasy the whole time.

Overall, it was a good experience. When I first arrived, I went to the section to pick up my “luxury” car which was supposed to be ann Audi or BMW, there were no cars at the staging area. They had to go get one. When the car finally arrived, it had damage (dents) to it and it was all they had in that type, so I noted it and took the car to get to my destination. The car also had a dirty annd very dusty interior. Other that the rough start, the car was great. Upon arrival back, they saw the dents and had to get a supervisor. Luckily it had been documented so no issue, but I also had insurance on the car, so it would have been a non issue anyways, but they were there when I got the car. Alamo saw the interior on the car and apologized for thr Intial issue and they made the whole experience right upon the end of the trip. I would rent from them again. Bottom line: inspect the cars closely, push them to get what you paid for, and get the insurance.

I rented a hybrid vehicle through Costco to be picked up at the Phoenix International Airport. If I had to rate only the pickup process, I would give it one star, if any at all. I give it four stars now only because one employee was great to us, and we thank Claudia, who assisted us at the vehicle return, and helped us and made us feel heard, and asked what she could do to make it right when we shared our pick up experience with her, which I will describe below. Claudia deserves the kudos, and we are grateful to her. Picking up the car: * one star: No one wanted to assist us at the Alamo garage; we were told to pick out the car from the row. We went and discovered no hybrid cars parked in that row. We asked which ones are hybrid, because we paid for a hybrid car. The response was to check the writings on the keys that were inside the vehicles. We went around the row again (!) No hybrids. Three employees were standing around the stand, and no one moved to assist. FYI - two out of three of us are disabled and use canes to walk. So I had to go back to the stand again to state that we had reserved a hybrid vehicle. The fourth employee came up and asked me if I had indeed paid for a hybrid, then asked to look at the card given to us at the check-in register upstairs. I showed it, and she asked me to show her the reservation email. While I was looking for an email, she checked their records and said, "Oh yes, you did pay for a hybrid! Just as it says on the card," she meant the card which was given to us upstairs.... So after that "discovery," she said, " Okay, I will go get the car ready for you and bring it out,” which she did. I typically do not write reviews, but the experience we had at the Alamo pickup really stunned me, and not in a good way. If I did not insist on getting the car I paid for, I would end up with a worse vehicle, not the one I paid for. Once again - Thank you, CLAUDIA, at the return car services - we really appreciate YOUR help.

i secured a medium size rental car through costco travel online.. the website was easy to use.. alamo is part of a huuuge car rental center in phoenix, az.. the airport’s shuttle dropped me off right in front.. it was a couple minutes walk to the rental counter.. the line was a tad bit long so i used the qr code posted to check in online.. i would suggest checking in online prior to landing or while on the shuttle.. then, there was another short walk and down an escalator to the vehicle area.. i was greeted by a worker that took me to the aisle with all makes of medium size vehicles to choose from.. after choosing a vehicle, the worker explained what i need to have readily available when checking out.. at the check out booth, i providing my driver’s license and credit card and was on my way.. i did receive a text a day prior to the return date asking if i needed to extend my rental agreement.. the return was at the same location.. the signs on the roadway was visible.. there was workers in the drop off area waving me down to pull in which ever lane.. i was greeted and asked if i had any issues with the vehicle.. overall experience was great!

We rented our car from the sky harbor Phoenix airport. While the process to secure the car was easy I was a little disappointed the car itself in that it was not particularly clean on the inside. The floorboards were dirty and there was what appeared to be splattered soda on the inside of the windshield. On the morning we were leaving Sedona, Arizona, to return to the airport I noticed a check engine light warning. While I did Kyle the rental location to report this and they assured me they would come pick me up if we had issues it would have met us missing flight to return home. All in all this should have been a better rental experience what was a luxury type vehicle. ***UPDATE*** A couple days ago I left the above review of my experience with a car rental at the Sky Harbor Alamo rental from April 29 - May 3. Below is the response I received - Response from the owner a day ago Thank you for your review, Randy. Customer service is of the utmost importance to us, and we would like to speak with you further about this. Please visit www.alamo.com/en/customer-support.html to contact us. Please be ready to provide your contact information, reservation or rental agreement number and any additional information. Thanks. – Chris M I followed the link provided to a page with a handful of options to contact you by phone. I selected the one titled Customer Service. I had the information available as noted in the response to my review. A gentleman named Diego took my call. He did not ask for any of the information I was advised to have ready even after I told him I was asked to have it. Diego simply asked me to tell him what my review was which I repeated to him. He did not ask for any information related to dates, reservation numbers, contract numbers, etc. After I told Diego that I felt I was wasting my time by simply repeating my review to him he asked why I was calling and what I was looking for. Being more than frustrated at this point I repeated to him that I was calling because I was asked to per the response to my review. He said, "thanks and we will take your review into consideration in order to do better". Diego was uninterested and didn't know any of the specifics of my rental. He was completely uninformed of why I would be calling, or what he was supposed to do with my call. I felt he basically told me as much. What a complete waste of my time today to add to my poor experience. I'm changing my review from 2 stars to 1 star.
