  I’m back at AutoZone again with another intimidating car issue—this time a valve cover gasket. Fortunately, I had their Jedi Master mechanic-store manager, Anthony Michel, who runs the store, helping me. He was kind and patient with my endless (and often banal) questions and became a guiding light in my DIY work on my Toyota Yaris. Let’s face it: auto maintenance is intimidating to me, and I’m certain it is for most people. I have a stepfather who’s a mechanic, yet that motorhead gene somehow skipped me. Anthony, though, knows how to take the mystery out of it with years of what I call “car wisdom.” His line—“If you can change a spark plug and coil, you can do this”—is pure gold. I love that can-do attitude, especially when someone can instill that confidence in others. I’m working on my car today as I write this note to the team at AutoZone in Mountain Home, AR. Thanks, guys, for all your kind support! You’ve helped me save thousands of dollars in car-maintenance fees. I highly recommend this store for all your auto-care needs, and especially the very knowledgeable staff. One more note for AutoZone as a company: they have actual rewards you don’t even know about until you come back to buy more parts or oil. Many stores sell you on rewards programs that never seem to deliver. AutoZone’s rewards, based on points from previous purchases, show up as real dollars off your next purchase when you least expect them. That’s the cherry on top of the sundae. My best, Erika

  The guy that helped me was SUPER HELPFUL!!!. On the "gotta go home" day of my vacation. My battery died & positive connector broke. (vice grips on the cable and a trickle charger got it started) The Auto Zone "Hero" tested my battery, "yes sir, bad battery". So he hooked my up w/ a new battery and connectors. I replace the connectors and he was on the spot to change out the old for new battery. Which was a pain as the battery box was a little small for the aftermarket battery. He got it done though!! 5 STAR service!! Oh, and he also recommended a good Chinese restaurant!!! LOL Broke down at the Lakeview boat launch... The battery replaced in Mt.Home is the battery that lasted me 5 years from the Autozone @ Hacks Cross, Olive Branch, MS that I left a review for>

  Always liked autozone but the service is going downhill. In the last 2 weeks I had to wait on parts that they had to order. Seems fast when they say next day but how would u know since they didnt call like they say they will both times. This time I waited till 8pm and drove up there to see if they had my oder and it was just sitting on the shelf. Second issue this time is that the part needs an o-ring and they sell them in a 10 pack for $4. Take a .30 cent o-ring, a $10 cable and charge $4 more for an o-ring? No way. I'm done with auto zone. If you buy parts missing things needed to install them then sell the parts needed individually. All parts stores use to have bins behind the counter for this reason! For crying out loud lol. What a joke. Guess I'll go to another auto parts store to get the o-ring to install the part you sold me. Lady even agreed that's what I should do lol. Retarded. Tighten up or keep losing customers. Should have just got a refund. Maybe I will tomorrow since I have to get out for an o-ring!
