My name is Mark, and I want to share my experience at the Enterprise Rent-A-Car location in Pinson, Alabama, on September 28, 2026.
Unfortunately, the experience I had that morning was something I would hope no other customer has to go through.
I had made a reservation for a full-size pickup truck and had spoken with Tyriq, who confirmed my reservation and the date for me to pick up the vehicle. I arrived a couple of hours before lunch, as I had previously stated I would. When I arrived, Tyriq was not there, so the branch manager, Durante Murphy, assisted me.
I explained that I had a confirmed reservation for a full-size pickup. However, I was told that the vehicle I had reserved was not available. I was offered a Toyota Tacoma that was not clean and was also told there might possibly be a Dodge Ram available at the airport, but there was no certainty that it would be available.
What concerned me most was the way the situation was handled. I felt that my reservation was not being honored and that I was not being treated with the level of customer service I should have received. The situation eventually escalated to the point that Jefferson County Sheriff's deputies were contacted.
I want to make it very clear that I did not threaten anyone or use profanity. I was simply trying to resolve the situation and obtain the vehicle I had reserved.
After leaving the Pinson location, I went to the Enterprise location in Gardendale. The difference in service was remarkable. The Gardendale employees provided me with a Ford F-150 and had me taken care of in less than 20 minutes. They treated me professionally and respectfully, and I had an entirely different experience.
I am asking Enterprise corporate to please review what happened at the Pinson location, including the reservation records, employee records, available camera footage, and any recording of the incident that may exist.
I have been a customer who expected to be treated fairly and professionally. What happened in Pinson was extremely disappointing, especially considering that another Enterprise location was able to resolve the situation quickly and professionally.
I hope Enterprise will take this complaint seriously and investigate the circumstances surrounding my reservation and how the situation was handled.
I am writing to inform everyone about a very disappointing experience I had with the Enterprise Rent-A-Car location in Pinson.
I had a reservation for a full-size pickup truck that had been arranged with an employee, Tyriq. I was told that the reservation was confirmed for September 28, 2026, and that the vehicle would be available for me to pick up that morning. I arrived a couple of hours before lunch, which Tyriq and I agreed upon.
When I arrived, Tyriq was not working, so I explained my situation to the branch manager, Durante Murphy. He pulled up my reservation and confirmed that he could see it. However, he told me that the location did not have a full-size pickup truck available.
Mr. Murphy told me that the only truck they had available was a smaller Toyota Tacoma. He stated that the vehicle had not been cleaned and that the remote would not lock the doors. I explained that I specifically needed a full-size pickup truck. Mr. Murphy then said he would see if he could locate a full-size truck for me. He proceeded to assist other customers and answer telephone calls. After waiting, I asked him if he had located a truck. He told me that he was still looking. Eventually, he stated that there “might” be a Dodge Ram available at the airport and he would see if he could have someone retrieve it, but could not guarantee that they could.
At that point, I explained that I could not continue to wait in the office. My son had dropped me off before going to work because I was told that my rental reservation was confirmed and would be waiting for me.
I then took out my cell phone and stated that I intended to document my experience so that the appropriate corporate officials could review what had occurred. Once I began recording, Mr. Murphy walked away and stated that he would not allow me to record him. I have a partial recording of the incident in which Mr. Murphy walks behind a wall and tells me that he will not come back out while I am recording. Mr. Murphy told me that he would not provide me with service.
I put my phone away, and Mr. Murphy went to a desk and made a telephone call. I overheard him providing a description of what I was wearing, which I found out later was a phone call to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, apparently reporting me as an irate customer.
I want to make it clear that at no point did I threaten anyone, use profanity, or become physically confrontational. I was frustrated because I had a confirmed reservation, had been dropped off by my son based on the understanding that my rental would be available, and was then told that the vehicle I had reserved was not available and that there was no guarantee another suitable vehicle could be provided.
I waited for the deputies to arrive. One deputy went inside to speak with Mr. Murphy, while Officer Reid remained with me and spoke with me. Officer Reid even offered to take me home. Fortunately, my son was able to leave work and return to pick me up. He then took me to the Enterprise location in Gardendale.
My experience at the Gardendale Enterprise location was completely different. I was greeted professionally, treated respectfully, and provided with a full-size Ford F-150. The entire process took less than 20 minutes. I was very pleased with the service I received there and would give the Gardendale location five stars.
I have also spoken with another customer who witnessed what occurred and indicated that he would be willing to provide an account of the incident if necessary. He can confirm everything that I am stating here.
As someone who has owned and operated two businesses, I understand that situations involving customers can sometimes be challenging. However, I cannot imagine treating a customer in the manner in which I was treated at the Pinson location. I believe customers deserve to be treated with professionalism and respect, especially when they have made a confirmed reservation and have arrived expecting the company to honor it.

I had a great experience with the Enterprise Rent-A-Car in Pinson, Alabama! The gentlemen working in the office were extremely nice, courteous, and professional. They made the entire rental process smooth and pleasant from beginning to end.
What really stood out to me was the level of service I received. I made my reservation the same day, and they were still able to arrange to pick me up directly from my home. I truly appreciated that convenience and how accommodating they were, especially on such short notice.
Excellent customer service all around! I truly appreciate the kindness, professionalism, and willingness of the gentlemen at the Pinson location to make the process as easy as possible for me. I would definitely recommend this location to others!

I wish the stars were negative! This place is terrible! App information don’t go back to the office. Even after you check in you have to wait for your car for another hour….. They also don’t take certain bank cards. Get a car from someone else.
