- JKJean KeelJul 10, 20255.0I had one of the greatest experiences at this location. Initially, I was helping a friend that had a problem with her battery. We had given her a jump to make it to phenix city. Her second home is across the street from Advance Auto on 14th street. When I arrived the store manager was explaining to her that her battery was leaking acid. The vehicle needed to sit for awhile before it could be checked. If, Ms Nikki had not checked that battery, my friend could've had a bad accident. I thanked her for being so observant of my friends truck. We left the vehicle until it was safe to replace the battery. The next day, my blower went out on my air conditioner. I immediately thought about Advance Auto in Phenix City. I live in the Lake Harding area. There was trust built with Ms Nikki. I went there and explained how my air-conditioned was acting. It wasn't blowing. She immediately went to my vehicle information online. I had a new blower installed months ago by my son who works at GMC in Columbus ga. She immediately told me that it was possibly the resistor. I drove to my son's job and explained it to him. He quickly checked it and said, it was the resistor!! I went back to Ms Nikki and purchased the resistor for my VIN #. I was so impressed with this Lady and the professionalism that she shows to her customers. It is so refreshing to see someone so committed to really helping customers. I will continue to come from Lee county to this Advance Auto. Ms Nikki has traits of leadership that you rarely see in civilian society. Thanks so much for your service to customers 😀

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
