I've bought numerous car batteries from AZ in Lanett over the years...never had any issues. Today, I left feeling very uncomfortable, although I was given the service that I went there for.
My car battery died while I was at Kroger. My vehicle is not even 3 years old yet, but I had no warnings that my alternator was bad...so after getting a jump from a friendly person that was parked directly in front of me, I drove to AZ to have the battery checked.
I walked in and saw a good four or five employees around the front counter...only one was assisting another customer, and he seemed to be the manager on duty (had a beard). A lady asked if I needed assistance and I told her I needed my battery checked. The manager told her to get a "red shirt" to do it. She told me it would be a minute. I saw only one young man in a red shirt...the manager told him to do the battery check, or at least that is who I assume he was giving orders to. The young man (again, assuming it was him....I didn't actually see him at the moment) didn't seem happy with that and voiced his displeasure by making a whining sound like a young child. The manager then told him again, in a very firm voice, and rather loudly I might add, to do the battery check. The young man reacted the same way again. Then the manager loudly ordered him to do it and said "I'm not going to tell you again". I spoke up and said that if there was a problem, I'd go elsewhere...there are other parts stores nearby, and one is right next door. He said no...there was no problem However, the young lady that first addressed me when I entered is the one that came out to do the battery check.
IMHO, it was quite unprofessional for this exchange between management and subordinates to be handled so publicly and loudly. First, take care of the customer, then address issues with employees behind closed doors.
Again, I got the service I entered for, but I doubt I'll return.
For reference, this happened Saturday, Aug 1 at around 10am EDT.

These folks have the most excellent customer service! We were definitely stressing with our engine light coming on hours away from home. They diagnosed the problem quickly, had the part we needed, and were just all around helpful. They went above and beyond and saved our trip. Highly recommend!
