I am very thorough when it comes to car buying. I know what I want and how much I am willing to spend. I have used the same sales rep for over 15 years at another dealership. They insulted me on my trade in and then was not willing to even discuss other incentives to get close. It all worked out, because I was about to use Carvana or Toyota, but stopped at Shottenkirk, first! Terrion Crutcher was a Rockstar!! We bought 2, brand new Hondas, in the same day, for prices we could tolerate! 😀 last ones out that night!! Thank you to John Peltz for staying and making all of the paperwork, seamless!!

Had a bad experience with JT the service adviser! My appointment was booked for 5/11/26 at 2:30 I spoke with him regarding what I needed done to my vehicle which was cleaning of headlights and a part that needed replaced so one of my headlight bulbs could be replaced! He quoted me around $300 ish dollars told me that if it happened to be something else different after they looked at it he would let me know. I get to the place and had to wait because he was on a phone call but once he came out he acted like he had seen a foreign object! Asking how can he help when clearly I had made an appointment that he knew about! After getting my information said he doesn’t remember the phone call conversation and I had to repeat it all again what I was needed done! I did ask for additional things to be checked for pricing for another time and that’s when he started getting impatient and told me that I would have to leave my vehicle over night! Mind you we talked on the phone before coming to the location I live in Decatur and told him I was looking to try a different Honda dealership! So to tell em that u would have to leave my car that it’s 2:30 pm and it’s implied knowledge that I should of know that I would have to leave my vehicle with them is not the way to talk to a customer! I don’t know anything about cars so I didn’t know I had to leave the vehicle at Honda! I wasn’t even prepared I had no way home plus I had my toddler and mom with me! After him trying to make like I’m dumb and say it was implied knowledge I told him he was supposed to tell me that up front over the phone! He never once said over the phone that you would have to leave the vehicle or ask if you needed a courteous ride or nothing! Told me it’s implied knowledge that it would take 2-3 hours to clean my headlights out! So I told him to go get my car! I can apply my knowledge elsewhere because my money spends well anywhere!!! He’s awful!!!

When you drive on the lot it is very easy to park and start shopping. The cars are in an organized way. I didn't know what l wanted exactly so this gave me an opportunity to browse and consider. I looked at used cars and SUVs and even some trucks. The selection is phenomenal. But when I saw the new Civic Hatchback I was interested. Not fully decided because size wise this was a step down for me. I was not pressured in any way by my sales helper, Ali. He took me to see a new car that just came off the truck. I took an extra day to consider. Honestly, there are no wrong choices amongst the Honda line. I would recommend this car buying experience to anyone. I'm so lucky Ali was my sales helper. He made the decision easier, less stressful.

In October 2025 we purchased a used Kia minivan from Shottenkirk Honda of Huntsville. Since the purchase we have had a couple of issues arise and have received poor customer service with both issues. 1. The day we took the vehicle home we realized that the rear seat entertainment systems were missing leaving the back of the driver and passenger seats with empty brackets. The vehicle was advertised as including this feature. We originally contacted our salesman who escalated the issue to the sales manager. Four days later (10/28/25) the sales manager reached out stating he would find a solution. He stated he would reach out to the prior owner of the vehicle to see if they could return the screens and if that was not possible they would purchase replacement screens from Kia to install. Since then we have repeatedly followed up via text and voicemail to get an update and have not received a call back. The exposed metal seat brackets are a safety risk and would cause injury to rear seat passengers in the event of a collision. Upon speaking to the parts department Monday 4/20/26, it was communicated that the replacement screens have not been ordered and there is so record of this issue in our customer file. 2. The second issue we have encountered is upon purchasing new tires for the vehicle at Costco, the Costco tire service members were unable to find the lug nut lock key in any of the vehicles compartments, making them unable to remove the old tires from the vehicle. They asked that we call the dealership to inquire where the key might be or getting a replacement if it could not be found. On Monday 4/20/26, I spoke to two people in the service and parts department and they both said that we should bring our Kia minivan to the service center and they would be able to use their universal key to remove the lug nuts and give us a new set so that we could take our vehicle back to Costco and get the new tires installed. The gentleman in the parts department looked up the size of lug nuts for my particular year make and model to ensure they had lug nuts on hand, so that they could take care of this for me quickly. On Wednesday 4/22/26 I took the vehicle to the service center and upon arriving I was turned away and told that their lug nut key only works on Honda vehicles and they would not even attempt to get the lug nuts off. I was then told to go to the Kia dealership and ask them to remove the lug nuts instead. It is frustrating to have wasted a trip because I was told incorrect information by two different service members. As a mother of 3 children, ages 3 and under, I had to arrange childcare and plan around my infant’s feeding schedule to make this trip, only to be turned away. It is also concerning that we were sold a service plan from the dealership for this vehicle and it turns out they are not actually equipped to perform basic maintenance on the vehicle (tire rotation). I also question whether this vehicle received basic maintenance from their service department upon purchasing it from the original owner. If they had performed an oil change and tire rotation prior to listing the vehicle for sale, the missing lock key would have been discovered before we purchased the vehicle. The oil change sensor on the vehicle was reset at the same mileage as when we purchased the vehicle so we were under the impression it had received basic maintenance prior to us taking possession, but now we are questioning whether that is true. I am hopeful that these issues will be resolved soon in a satisfactory way; however, until that takes place I would not recommend using Shottenkirk Honda to purchase a used vehicle.
