  Service was efficient and friendly. The total time for my visit was less than 10 minutes. The staff treated me and each other with respect, which is not always a given at auto places.

  I'm on here to give a low and honest review after mine and wife's experience at the Express Oil Change in Dr Hicks Blvd in Florence, AL. I've thought hard on the way I wanted to go about things and this may not do anything but get deleted but I will have a copy of this review. On May 20th 2026 I had my wife take the car, 2017 Gmc Yukon Xl, to Express for a tune up before our vacation. I didnt have the time to mess with it because i was out of town for work. The only thing that was wrong with the vehicle before we dropped it off, was an abs module, that I knew about beforehand. All we needed done was spark plugs, wires and coil packs. Simple tune up. They proceeded to change the plugs and wires that day. After my wife left with our Yukon that day it began to misfire and drive terribly. At one point it shut off and wouldnt crank. Luckily her dad was with her and got ahold of Marcus, the one who installed the plugs and wires. He came to where the car stalled after hours and found that some of the wires were loose. He plugged them in, supposedly, and left. The following day the car continued to do the same thing so my wife had called while I was at work amd told me. I told her to take it back down there and have them look at it. They looked at it possibly reset engine light and sent her on her way with no change after the fact. I then got involved with talking to Marcus and I told him what was going on. He said he would take care of it. He ordered new wires for it and replaced them with still no change. Left there with a P0430 code and multiple misfire codes. I then went to get a second opinion at a local shop in Florence. They proceeded to replace coil packs to try to resolve the codes. As they were replacing them they found... 2 plug wires on bank 2 unplugged as well as cylinder 3,5, and 7 unplugged. After all this the p0430 code still stayed on to which they replaced o2 sensor on Bank 2 rear. Code still stayed on. He suggested that the catalytic converter could have went bad from the misfire. I then took my bills, $1000 at this point, to Express and told them what the other shop had said. I was told from Marcus that they could have possibly damaged my converters and they would take care of the bill to get them fixed as well as the cost for having to go to the other shop. About a week went by before I heard anything. They had brought the Yukon in one more day to get looked at to no avail. I then scheduled to drop the Yukon off to the them the following Monday, for them to run their tests and to have C and D exhaust run some tests since they were the recommended competent exhaust shop. They had the vehicle four days. They ran their drive cycle tests and replaced the other o2 sensor on bank 2 at their cost because the other shops possible mess up. This still didn't fix the issue. Marcus had called after they were done to pretty much tell me that anything that is wrong with the vehicle currently was not their fault. They refused to do anymore business with me and refunded my money for plugs and wires. So here I am a few weeks later with still the same issue and 2 check engine codes related to bank 2 catalytic converter, P2099 and P0430. Still trying figure out which route will be the least expensive to have our car back the way it was. I don't normally do this and am really easy going and easy to deal with, but my whole interaction with Express oil on Dr Hicks left a bad taste in my mouth. After having many chances to make it right. I know everyone has different experiences at these places, I'm just putting this on here to say beware who you trust to work on your cars and hope everyone has a better experience than we did.
