  I purchased a Furrion Chill Cube air conditioner from Camping World in Dothan less than 30 days ago. I installed it and used it one time without issue. On the second use, the unit stopped cooling completely. I went back to Camping World expecting them to stand behind a product they had sold me less than a month earlier. Instead, I was told I would have to deal directly with the manufacturer. I understand that manufacturer warranties ultimately go through the manufacturer, but when a product fails almost immediately, I expect the retailer to make some effort to support the customer and the product they sold. What made the experience worse was how it was handled. The service counter staff were short and dismissive, and speaking with the manager did not improve the situation. There was very little effort to help resolve the problem or even acknowledge the frustration of having a brand new unit fail right away. To be fair, Furrion/Lippert has been responsive so far, and I appreciate their assistance. My complaint is specifically about Camping World of Dothan and the lack of after-sale customer service. A brand new air conditioner shouldn’t fail after essentially one use, and a customer shouldn’t feel abandoned less than 30 days after spending their money. Based on this experience, I would be very hesitant to purchase another major RV component or anything else from this location. Selling the product is one thing. How you handle a problem afterward says much more.

  My experience with Camping World in Dothan, Alabama has been an absolute nightmare. I took delivery of my fifth wheel after being told that the issues had been addressed. Within only a few months, I discovered a serious mold infestation, rotting slide floors, water damage from the roof, missing screws, deteriorating underbelly material, and open gaps around pipes that allow moisture, humidity, pests, and Florida heat inside. Many of these problems became obvious once spring arrived and the weather warmed up. Mold was growing inside the walls, the slide floors were rotting, and the RV became unbearable during the summer. The air-conditioning unit also failed after only two days of use. What makes this experience even more devastating is what happened to my dog. He had survived cancer for two years but was still immunocompromised. After we had lived in the RV for approximately one month, he developed a serious infection. I cannot medically prove that the mold caused his illness, but given the infestation and his weakened immune system, I strongly believe the conditions inside this RV may have contributed to his declining health and possibly his death. That is something I will have to live with forever. This fifth wheel was not simply a recreational purchase. It became my home after I lost my job and needed an affordable place to live while trying to rebuild my life. Instead of receiving a safe and livable RV, I was left with extensive damage, major repair costs, unbearable living conditions, and serious concerns about my health. I have been trying to find another RV so I can get out of this situation, but because this purchase is less than six months old, I have been unable to trade it or move into something safer and more reliable. I am now stuck living in a damaged RV that I do not feel is safe, while still being financially responsible for it. I feel completely trapped because of this purchase and the condition in which it was sold to me. Based on my experience, I do not believe the true condition of this RV was properly disclosed or that the reported issues were adequately repaired before delivery. I trusted Camping World to inspect the unit and be honest about its condition. That trust was completely misplaced. I strongly recommend that anyone considering purchasing an RV from this location hire a completely independent inspector before signing anything or taking delivery. Do not rely solely on assurances that the problems have been fixed. *Update...Camping World reached out but they said I have to bring my 5th wheel 2 hours north from Panama City Beach for them to look at it. There has been zero commitment to anything until they look at it. So I have to take off of work and spend an entire day at Camping World again. I'm hoping for a positive outcome but I'm not feeling good about any of it.
