- TFThomas FalkenberrySep 26, 20265.0Eric took care of my on-line order and even brought it out to my car because I'm not mobile at all. Top notch service.
- DFDavid FlemingSep 26, 20265.0Absolute 5-star customer service from Eric! Our car battery died while we were parked at Target, and I realized there was an Advance Auto right across the street. I walked over and met Eric, who immediately jumped in to help. Not only did he help me get the right battery, but since I didn't have tools with me, he knew the exact tools needed for our specific vehicle and loaned them to me on the spot. Later, when I realized I accidentally broke a couple of lock pins on the cabin air filter housing while working under the hood, Eric helped me track down the exact replacements. To top it all off, he even installed a missing rear wiper for me! Eric is knowledgeable, kind, and genuinely cares about helping people. Advance Auto is lucky to have him on the team!
- KPKaleb PearceJul 30, 20262.0Wasted ton of my time. Pretty unprofessional on avoiding calls. Couldnt really recommend them. Advance in general seems to just be going downhill constantly, with the exception of a few stores.

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?
Expand FAQ item
Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
