  The guys at Mavis were very accommodating and helped me very quickly mounting a tire that had blown out on my trailer!!!

  My son is normally away at college but had planned on coming home for the weekend. We knew this over a week ahead time and knew he needed car maintenance so we scheduled an oil change and tire rotation for Saturday morning, 10/3, at 9:00 a.m. I arrive early, approximately 8:40 a.m. and go inside to check in and tell him I’m scheduled for an oil change and tire rotation. I also tell him the light is on telling me the front right tire is low. The man tells me I’m the 4th car, ALL scheduled for 9:00 a.m. and that it will definitely be a while. At 10:00 a.m., 1 hour and 20 minutes in, my car still hasn’t been moved from outside and only ONE vehicle has been pulled out of the shop. I tell them I understand it isn’t their fault but I don’t have all day. Hence the reason for making an appointment a week ahead of time. I call my wife to come get me and tell them to call me. Never heard from anyone till nearly 1:00 pm, 4 hours after my “appointment”. My wife and son go and pick up the car. When my son gets home he tells me the low air light is still on for the front right tire. Hmm…if my tires had been rotated, they would have caught that. Honestly, they should have caught it after changing the oil and watching the gauge to see the oil pressure build, or when they moved the car back outside. I look at the paperwork and only the oil change was done. The only good thing about the experience is at least I wasn’t charged for a tire rotation but now no other shop is open to have the tires rotated, like originally requested and scheduled and I won’t be able to get it done before my son returns to school. Luckily I know a reputable shop in the town his school is in but now he gets to make an appointment and take up more time, having the service done, when it should have been done by Mavis as requested. Just another example of why using a “chain shop” isn’t as good as using a locally owned shop.
