  I booked a reservation for a truck and I was discriminated against by the manager. He red flagged my name for no apparent reason. He said that he thinks I’m suspicious and that I was going to steal his truck. I then asked him to remove the flag off my name so I can rent from another Penske and he refuses to do so. I will also be contacting the BBB, local politicians because I have a connection with them and possible civil lawsuit. I am no thief and wouldn’t risk my name or freedom for a truck. I was renting them them because they had a great rate. I couldn’t be I was discriminated against especially in Birmingham, Alabama.

  They were absolutely amazing. Great customer service really grateful for the availability and I made sure that I took care of their truck and sign it back in the same condition that they gave it to me.

  Customer service at this location is severely lacking. Some staff members seemed incapable of basic communication. The person assisting me literally walked away without saying anything to end the transaction and gave no after-hours drop-off instructions, even though they knew I was returning the truck on a day they were closed. ​Because the truck had an awful aftermarket backup camera, I decided to return it the same night I rented it. I spent time roaming the property in the dark, only to find a broken lockbox. The property is directly across from a strip club, and there was a nefarious character staring at me the entire time, making me feel entirely unsafe. ​I had to call Penske customer service, only to be informed that I could just return the truck to the nearest Home Depot. This was infuriating. Had I known that was an option, I would have simply dropped it off at the Home Depot near my house on the other side of town instead of driving all the way back to this sketchy location. ​When I finally got to the Home Depot, the staff was helpful, but Penske's system still had issues. We actually had to call roadside assistance just to find someone who could override the system to accept the return. Moving is stressful enough. Don't rent from Penske unless you want added, unnecessary stress.
