  I cannot believe this branch has a 4.8-star rating. I cannot express how dissatisfied I am with this location—or, frankly, the other Birmingham-area locations I’ve dealt with. My experiences with the mechanics, employees, and management have been unbelievably frustrating. I brought in my 3-year-old Tahoe because of an odor. The very first recommendation was to remove the entire dashboard trying to locate the source. Afterward, the vehicle was never the same and the musty smell continued. The experience essentially ruined the Tahoe for me, and I ultimately ended up selling it. On a separate occasion, I brought in an older truck for transmission repairs. I received the truck back with a completely inoperable transmission. I eventually had to sell that vehicle as well, for considerably less than it would have otherwise been worth. Do not expect management to resolve the situation. In my experience, the branch manager was no help, and finding any meaningful way to contact someone at the corporate level was nearly impossible. Eventually, it feels like the strategy is simply to ignore the customer long enough that they become frustrated and move on. I fully expect a response to this review telling me to “reach out” so they can make things right. Based on my experience, I have very little confidence that will actually happen. That’s one of the most frustrating parts of these public responses: the company can leave a comment making it appear to everyone reading the reviews that they’re addressing the problem, while the reviewer cannot respond underneath it to explain whether anything was actually resolved. I rarely leave reviews like this, but after having serious issues with two separate vehicles, I think other customers deserve to know what my experience has been.

  RC (Gauge) is a great employee. He is definitely a keeper. Don’t let him go. This is a strange compliment, but the man looked at me while he spoke. Very rare. I’m a little hard of hearing and he sweetly repeated words. Love this location.

  Although my husband has been here, this was my very first time. Pleasant, helpful, showed me all things worked on in car, explained everything about what was being done and why, even educated me how things were done as they were showing me. I had oil change, cabin filter changed, air filter changed, and freon so my ac would cool. Did not upsell. Thought I would be uncomfortable since I had never been here, but they made me extremely comfortable. Definitely will go back when needed

  I had a great experience at Express Oil Change. I brought my car in because I was having some maintenance concerns, and Gage and Jared took the time to thoroughly inspect it and explain exactly what they found. They were honest, professional, and never tried to sell me services I didn’t need. Since my vehicle is still under warranty, they recommended that I take it to the dealership for the repairs instead of having the work done there—and they didn’t charge me anything for their time or inspection. That kind of integrity is hard to find these days. I truly appreciate their honesty, transparency, and excellent customer service. I highly recommend Gage, Jared, and the entire team at Express Oil Change!
