- SLS. L.Feb 7, 20202.0We rented a supposedly new Durango for a road trip. The SUV drove good going but coming back the check engine light came on and the shifter service light kept coming on and the SUV was hesitating at every stop we made when pulling off. We were very nervous and worried about being stranded on the side of the road. We've been regular renters of Budget for years and this has never happened to us before. Thankfully we made it back home safely and was able to return the SUV safely. The lady that checked the vehicle back in wasn't compassionate or concerned at all. She just wanted the 430.43 for the three day rental and we were asked to fill out an incident form so that the SUV can be checked out. This was at the Airport Hwy location in Birmingham 6/27/21 around 5pm.
