Horrible Experience with Enterprise – Unprofessional, Shady Practices, and Poor Customer Service
I had an absolutely dreadful experience with Enterprise Rent-A-Car that I feel compelled to share. During my rental period, I unfortunately got a flat tire. Admittedly, it took me a minute to notice, and I drove on it briefly, but there was no damage to the vehicle other than the tire itself. What followed was a nightmare of unprofessionalism, questionable business practices, and outright rudeness that left me feeling scammed and disrespected.
First, despite the issue being a simple flat tire, Enterprise insisted I contact my insurance company, as if I had been in a full-blown accident. This was completely unnecessary and felt like a deliberate attempt to shift responsibility. To make matters worse, they demanded a $500 down payment just to provide me with a replacement car. This is absurd—rental companies typically handle such issues through insurance claims, not by extorting customers for upfront cash. It felt like a blatant money grab, especially since the car was otherwise undamaged.
When I questioned their process, the staff was shockingly rude and dismissive, showing zero empathy or willingness to help. Their attitude was unprofessional to the point of being hostile. At one point, they offered to “reduce” the payment to $200, which only made the situation feel shadier—like they were running a scam rather than operating a legitimate business. It’s unacceptable for a company of this size to engage in such predatory tactics.
To top it all off, I explained that the tire was fixable and offered to have it repaired myself to avoid their inflated fees. They flat-out refused, insisting that only their designated repair company could handle it. This rigid policy reeks of a scheme to funnel money to their preferred vendors while leaving customers with no options. It’s clear they prioritize profits over customer satisfaction.
I’ve rented cars from many companies over the years, and this was by far the worst experience I’ve ever had. Enterprise’s combination of rude staff, unprofessional conduct, and questionable financial demands makes me question their integrity as a business. I strongly recommend avoiding this company at all costs—there are far better rental options out there that treat customers with respect and transparency. Save yourself the headache and rent elsewhere.
