- ARAnna RamirezOct 29, 20251.0Horrible after having an oil change done the tech asked if I wanted to get a transmission fluid change due to a promotion 15% the had. I went 2days later and proceeded to get it done after leaving Valvoline that evening my transmission started shifting I could barely make it back home. Called them to make a complaint and they said we don't recommend changing the fluid in older cars with high mileage but yet they knew how many miles I had because I had just gotten a oil change and they still did the transmission oil change . Know there giving me the run around and playing stupid All Valvoline should mandated a Sign in the Garage stating We do not recommend transmission oil change done on older vehicles with high mileage!

I took the vehicle to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed improper oil filter installation and missing oil plug, causing damages requiring over $2,400 in repairs. Worse, the Valvoline manager visited the shop without my authorization, accessed my vehicle, and cleared the diagnostic codes to conceal the error. This unauthorized tampering is unacceptable and may violate laws on evidence handling and property access. Valvoline, you must cover the full repair costs, retrain your technicians on proper procedures, and provide a formal apology.
