I frequently visit this particular Autozone store. I’m always greeted by one of the sales associates when I come in and asked how they can help me. Often I’m helped by Jay D. to find the part and/or tool I’m looking for. With the wide variety of cars I own, I rely on this store to help me keep them going in good order.

I had to buy a battery here a couple of months ago, and everyone at this store was so kind and willing to help me out. They all worked together as a team and didn’t stop helping with my car until the issue was resolved. I appreciated it very much and was relieved that they were so willing to lend a hand.

One of the things I really dislike when it comes to auto parts is when going to find/buy “basic” things like oil filters, air filters, wiper blades, etc. - and having to look them up in a book - can I do it? Yes. Is it difficult? No. it’s slower still if you haven’t already committed your vehicle’s specific part numbers to memory, of course.
So you walk to the appropriate aisle of your favorite/closest auto parts store and there - attached to a nearby shelf - is a parts book the size of War & Peace with dog-eared and missing pages and you now have to look up - in my case - wiper blades for a model that may have 5 to 10 entries depending on the car’s specific year, tire size, interior color, whether it has NAV, whether it has factory mats, (ok, maybe an exaggeration) and a plethora of attributes that likely wouldn’t impact the size of my windshield let alone the size of the wiper blades… but seemingly it was important to record all of that crap in this book. If you’re lucky, your year/make/model reveals that, indeed, the driver and passenger blades are the same part numbers regardless of whether your seats are leather or cloth…
Which brings me to one of the guys working at this specific AutoZone (#5196). After he asks what I’m looking for and I inform him, he suggests that if I don’t already know the length or the part number, NOT to use War & Peace to find it and invites me to the counter to determine the appropriate blade pair. His initial search reveals a manufacturer who must make all of their blades with a much more expensive rubber than anyone else’s, because they were literally more than double the cost of what they SHOULD be. He tells me I don’t need to spend that money because the alternative brand - which he further explains is actually made by the more expensive manufacturer - were less than half the price.
I appreciate the extra effort of associates who don’t automatically take the path of least resistance - even for something as simple as a wiper blade. He saved me time and he wound up saving me money. I’m grateful for that sort of conscientious customer service. It’s good to have a store and a parts guy like Jay D. helping me out; that’s what keeps me - and maybe other folks as well - coming back.
