Can I give a 0 star review? AVOID this place if you can, what a disaster... extremely poor experience. Notice too how the positive reviews here are mostly fake in order to boost the overall rating.
First, nothing towards the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. But wow are they either understaffed, or just extremely inefficient - or both. So this review is mostly for management and Enterprise Rent-A-Car corporate or whomever runs this place.
1) Wait time to get to the desk to check-in was 25-30 min, even right after opening a Friday morning.
2) After checking in, we were asked to take a seat, which means another 45-50 min.
3) Car wasn't ready, it was still being washed and cleaned
4) Other people behind us got helped before us, in itself not a huge deal, but not exactly courteous
5) When it was finally our turn, I was obviously frustrated - it was my day off and there's stuff to do. But instead of getting us out of there as quickly as possible, the lady started cleaning the front windshield at leisure... not concerned at all about my long wait time or other people waiting in line
6) I finally said something along the lines of "can I please sign the paperwork so I can get out of here?" she took off with the car and said that she was declining service to me... I managed to stop her, and then she basically melted down in front of me, tears rolling down her face. "You don't know what we have to go through here..." is what she said along with a few more things.
I'm a very patient person and very friendly overall, let's be clear here. She called me rude, let's be clear that I was frustrated, just like all the other customers waiting in line. She was upset, I understand that, so I tried to deescalate right away. I told her that it's not her, that she's doing a good job, that's she very friendly, but that the business here is extremely inefficient, that the wait is frankly ridiculous, and that someone should do something about that. That it's not fair to her or the other employees. She calmed down, I signed the paperwork in less than 1 minute, and off I went - full of disbelief in what had just transpired...
7) Car was fine, just had an oil change warning
8) Returned the car the next day, again very friendly service, but I don't think I've ever seen a staff member look that hard for dinks in car... I wasn't surprised given some of the negative reviews I read the evening before and how they (at Enterprise) are "thiefs".
9) Oh, almost forgot to mention that they want your employers' name at check-in since "it's part of our underwriting..." I don't think I've ever heard that one before in 20 years of renting a car at least 2x a year on average. And even though I used my own car insurance, they still tried to sell they Damage Waiver... "thiefs" indeed...
10) To suggest a fix to the inefficiency... How about add one more employee to your staff? Let's say that costs $50 an hour (I think I'm being very generous here) x 8 hours for the day = $400. If you can thus churn 4x more cars p/hour at an average price of $250 per car x 8 hours, that's another $8,000 in daily revenue, minus your 1x employee cost = $7,600 for the day. You already have your operational costs. so there's it's just the cost for the one employee. For another 200 days a year ($7,600x 200)? Drumrolls please... $1,520,000 in additional revenue... Let's take off a 3rd for car depreciation and insurance.... That's still an extra million in straight up profit. Times how many branches around the country/world?
You're welcome Enterprise...
I don't leave reviews often, when I do, it's positive 9 out of 10. Enterprise lost me as a customer for the rest of my life, so job well done. Please don't give me the "Contact Us at Customer Service" on the website follow up. Never again, even with a free car rental, credit, etc...
And by the way, it's not like renting out cars is a new formula that still needs to be figured out...
