  I am beyond frustrated with my experience at this QuikTrip location. I ordered a brisket burger for my husband and a cinnamon pretzel with two extra icings (which cost extra) for myself and prepaid for my order. I then waited about 15 minutes for my food. After waiting and after the pretzel had already been made and handed to me, the employee (tall light skin black guy) preparing the food told me “We’re out of icing. What else do you want?” Since a cinnamon pretzel without icing is not what I ordered, I asked what other options were available. He did not provide any alternatives and simply stared at me. There was no apology or attempt to resolve the issue. At this point, I am annoyed because I waited a long time, I’m hungry & they seem to not care. I asked if the pretzel could be comped due to the inconvenience. The employee told me he didn’t know and pointed to the cashier, who was standing literally two feet away, and told me to “ask him.” There was no attempt to communicate between employees. I was expected to handle it myself. When I asked the cashier (Hispanic guy), he refused, stating that if they gave me the pretzel the store would “lose money.” At that point, I asked why he was being so difficult, given that the food was already made and I had prepaid. When I pointed out that the pretzel would otherwise be wasted, he responded by saying, “I have guys in the back that will eat it.” So as a paying customer who prepaid and waited 15 minutes, I was told no over a roughly $3 loss, but employees were allowed to eat my order for free if I didn’t take it. That logic makes no sense and felt incredibly disrespectful. There was also no apology at any point. What makes this more frustrating is that this is not the first issue at this location. On a previous visit, the manager ran out of hot dog toppings, apologized for the inconvenience, and handled it professionally by comping the item even when I didn’t ask. Today, however, I was told a pretzel costing slightly more was “too much of a loss,” despite the mistake being entirely on the store. I ultimately requested a full refund for my entire order (which came out to about $25 for everything I got) because of how poorly this was handled. I am 99% sure they ate all the food I ordered. To make matters worse, the refund could not be processed back to my card and I was forced to take cash, mostly in $1 bills, adding yet another inconvenience. There was no manager on duty at the time, and the lack of leadership was evident in how dismissively and poorly the situation was handled. This location is constantly out of items, but today’s lack of communication, common sense, professionalism, and courtesy was the final straw. QT corporate needs to look into the management consistency and customer service training at this site.
