- JBJason B5 days ago1.0I went in this morning to get some stuff for a tune up for my c10 and also needed a universal electric fuel pump the Edelbrock one that all the parts stores have with the rest of the stuff for older cars and i asked a guy there with long hair and he looked at me like I asked for a combobulator. I told him it was a universal fuel pump and he proceeds to ask me for the year make a model. Smh put everything back and when down the street to oreillys got everything I needed there

HOW DO BRAKES WORK?

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
