- TBTrevor Bacon2 days ago2.0Not a stand behind their product knowledge store as a brand. Not a product expertise store either to set you up with the right products as personnel. Physically brought a battery in to buy a new one. Guy sold me my new one, took my core. Installed battery and my equipment still wouldn’t start. Paid a mechanic to pick up my equipment for repair thinking it must be a starter or something. Come to find out advanced auto parts sold me the wrong battery and just went off shape. No biggie. I had low expectations on product knowledge of the store being more of a diy/home owner dealer. Paid the mechanic to just give me the right battery then I would return the battery to advanced auto parts. The reason I write the review is because of how they rejected me returning the battery 1 week later. Eve though I gave them my core and they still sold me a wrong battery. It’s not the mistake made. It’s how you handle it and stand behind your knowledge in your field. Now I must “call the 1-800 number” instead of the store just doing the right thing. 2 stars because the counter guys are counter guys. They were nice. The brand , the leadership for rockwalls store, and the lack there of on ownership is my issue.

Those guys in there are not only mechanically knowledgeable but also has good technicians skills. You feel real American of kindness the minute you walk in there. Go check it out for yourself.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward. In disc brakes, the piston is located inside a caliper that houses brake pads and fits over the rotor. The friction lining on the pads makes contact with the rotor to slow the vehicle. In drum brakes, the piston moves two curved shoes lined with friction material against the inside of the brake drum.
