Awful customer service . Wait more than two hours to get a representative to discuss my fee $54 every two weeks because they charge me with other (?) fees . Ex. Sleeve fee, mouthpieces, road assists, activation fee , removal fee , etc…Also have to paid for calibration fee every month . If your car gets stuck the fee is around $90 extra .
After removal my car gets an electrical problems, have weird sounds . Stay away to install this device and talk to your attorney to request a removal . Use the bus instead . Very, very disappointed .

I was told my fee would be $89 a month. O went to pick up my unit and was told I had to pay $129 a month. I attempted to call customer service MANY times and there was NO way to speak to a live person to help with the error. I switched to a different company.

This company is a joke it adds a bunch of extra charges just because you didn't blow the device quick enough or something like that. and the device itself is very unsafe the tip of it just falls off randomly and you have to go look for the tip while driving because it doesn't wait for you to get to stop light I don't know why this is loud because it makes driving a lot less safe. The website doesn't even work for me when I try to log in it shows an error and so I have to pay everything over the phone with the automated menu. They try to get as much cash out of you as possible you have to pay a monthly subscription fee and usually lock out fees on top of that because it's difficult to meet the requirements by blowing it as often as it wants and as quick as it once simple mistakes add charges. Even replacing the battery can add a lockout charge which is what happened when my battery was drained and usually they don't really care and they will come up with excuses to still charge you. The only positive thing I can say is that the agents generally are pretty nice.
Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock
How does an interlock device work?
An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.
What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?
The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
How do I use my interlock device?
Using an IID is simple. To start your vehicle, blow into the device as directed. If the device detects no alcohol, your car will start. You may be prompted for "rolling retests" while driving, where you’ll blow into the device again to confirm compliance. How-to videos are also available on the Intoxalock mobile app.

What happens if I fail a breath test on my ignition interlock device?
If you fail a breath test, your vehicle will not start, and the device will log the event. Depending on your state’s regulations, multiple failed tests may trigger additional penalties, such as lockouts or reporting to your monitoring authority. Intoxalock devices allow you to retest after a short wait if alcohol is no longer detected. Always follow your state’s guidelines to remain compliant.
