  This place has not changed from when it was Young Chevrolet service is crappy. They keep your lock car longer than you’re notified of and then they take forever to get the part in. They keep saying it’s the next day the next day the next day and then they say they can’t have it to you by the end of the day after they’ve told you that you would have it by the end of the day. We have bought three cars from there and will never buy a car from there again and my family and friends have all been notified and none of them will go there either because they say they’ve had nothing but crappy service in the past.

  I will never buy a car from clay Cooley I was bamboozled in to getting a car I didn't want. I came as a co signer. The put the car in my name and I was not buying the car and didn't give the person buy the car a choice in picking the car and Used some else finance not my paper work. But wants me to give the person the car and there name is not on the contract. Once again I was not buying but co-signing. I already have a car note and didn't need another. Plus the car was not new but sold as new with 3000 mile on it. Did my research and it was a loaner car. Not happy with that and they did some other people like that. That no. Stuck with a car that I didn't need and the person buy the car don't have no financial responsibility to it Clay cool y staff is scamming people

  Big shoutout to Tyrell at Clay Cooley Hyundai Mesquite. He did a phenomenal job helping me with my new Sonata. The whole process was smooth and he made sure I was taken care of every step of the way. I went through the Amazon car buying process and the deal with Clay Cooley was very transparent upfront. No shady upsells or surprises, which I really appreciated. What really stood out was how responsive and easy Tyrell was to work with. He answered all my questions, followed up when needed, and made sure everything was handled even after I drove off the lot. You can tell he genuinely cares about his customers. Definitely recommend working with him.

  Very disappointing experience with their sales department. They contacted me through Kelley Blue Book to buy my car and already had my vehicle details, including mileage. After setting up an appointment via text, I went in expecting a quick and straightforward process. Instead, I was left waiting for over an hour while they repeatedly tried to push me into trading in my car—something I had already said I was not interested in. In the end, they told me my car’s mileage was too high, even though they knew that before I came in. This felt like a complete waste of time and very unprofessional. I would not recommend doing business here.

  If I could give this dealership 0 stars, I would—but they get one because that’s the lowest option by the grace of Google. I had a terrible experience trying to purchase a car at Hyundai Clay Cooley- Mesquite dealership. I previously owned a Hyundai Elantra that I loved before it was totaled, so I came back looking to buy a newer model. I found a 2025 Elantra Limited listed for $21.6K and came in to test drive it with a salesman named Arlyn. After the drive, I was told there was another interested buyer and that I needed to act fast. I decided to think about it overnight. The next day, I called to check availability and was told the car had already been sold. About 40 minutes later, I received another call saying it actually hadn’t been sold—first red flag. I chose to finance through my bank and simply requested a buyer’s order. Instead of emailing it (which is standard and something I’ve done before), they insisted I come in person and repeatedly pushed me to finance through them. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to email it—but what should have taken under an hour turned into a long, drawn-out process. When I finally received the buyer’s order, they had added nearly $6,000 in unnecessary add-ons, bringing the total to about $29K. Second major red flag. For context, a brand-new 2026 Elantra Limited is around $31K. I asked multiple times for these add-ons to be removed, but they insisted they were “mandatory”—even though their own website states otherwise. The following day, I continued trying to get an updated buyer’s order, was redirected to a new salesman named Miguel, but no one would respond in a timely manner. I was told they were “too busy with other customers,” which gave the impression that customer service is not a priority. So I went to the dealership in person to move things along. Ironically, there were only a few customers there, while several salespeople were standing around talking to other employees of the dealership. I asked to speak with a sales manager after getting nowhere with the process. When I spoke with the sales manager, Roberto , he again insisted the add-ons were mandatory, directly contradicting their own website. At that point, it was clear this dealership was more focused on upselling and deceiving customers than being transparent or professional. They were even fined by the City of Mesquite during the week of 2/18—right when I was trying to purchase my car—for having too many vehicles on their lot. Given my experience, it’s not surprising. When you’re inflating prices by nearly 30% with unnecessary add-ons, it’s no wonder inventory isn’t moving. Instead of prioritizing transparency and helping customers, their approach focused on piling on extra fees. Because of this experience, Clay Cooley has permanently lost my business—which is truly disheartening because I was a longtime customer of the Clay Cooley family since 2017. What should have been a straightforward purchase turned into a frustrating experience filled with misinformation, pressure tactics, and lack of communication. In the end, I found a 2025 Hyundai Elantra Limited with lower mileage at Hyundai Alliance in Fort Worth for $22.8K. After taxes and fees, my total was about $25.8K—still significantly less than the $29K Clay Cooley tried to charge me. Even more importantly, the experience at Hyundai Alliance in Fort Worth was smooth, professional, and respectful—everything this dealership was not. I pray the Hyundai Dealership at Clay Cooley in Mesquite stops these greedy sales tactics before it ends up with serious consequences like being investigated by the Better Business Bureau. And I hope this review helps someone avoid a similar situation. Buyers should be aware of unnecessary add-ons and always double-check what is truly required before signing anything.
