Absolutely horrible experience. My friends and I stopped by to grab some drinks and chips — just minding our business, talking and laughing. From the moment we walked in, the assistant manager kept staring at us. One of my friends noticed but didn’t say anything at first.
When he went up to the counter to pay, he saw the assistant manager pointing at us and talking to the cashier, clearly about us, and looking mad for no reason. My friend came back and told us, and we honestly laughed because we couldn’t believe how unprofessional he was acting.
Then out of nowhere, the assistant manager came at us aggressively, saying, “You’re laughing because he told you we were talking about you,” even though we hadn’t planned to confront him at all. He kept going off, saying he “wasn’t planning on selling us anything” and telling us to get out of the store.
What made it even worse was the way he acted — a white, bald man talking to us with an attitude that definitely felt targeted and borderline racist. It was completely unnecessary and uncalled for.
All I said was, “Thank you sir, we’re not buying anything tonight. God bless,” and he kept repeating himself as we walked out.
We will NEVER come back.
The customer service is awful, the assistant manager is rude, unprofessional, and his behavior felt discriminatory. Horrible experience from start to finish.

HORRIBLE SERVICE From the “ASSISTANT MANAGER”. Can’t even laugh in store anymore. Of course I’m going to laugh louder if you are getting upset for no reason. And still “confronting me for laughing” saying “you laughed because we were talking about you”. You answered yourself on why I laughed harder silly goose. And still denied to give me your name after I asked for it to speak to the manager tomorrow. I really hope you guys train your Management better! Definitely won’t be going back. In all my years living in Mercedes never have I met such horrendous management service.

I had a very disappointing and unprofessional experience at this Pilot location. My friends and I were simply laughing and minding our business inside the store when the assistant manager approached us in a hostile and aggressive manner. Instead of addressing anything respectfully, they escalated the situation into a verbal altercation for no reason. To the point where he didn’t give his name and said to call management in the morning if I want it.
Their behavior felt discriminatory and completely out of line for someone in a management position. No customer should ever be talked to like that, especially when they are not causing any disruption.
This kind of treatment made us feel uncomfortable, singled out, and unwelcome. Pilot needs to better train their staff—especially management—on professionalism, customer service, and discrimination awareness.
I will not be returning to this location.
