- KRKeith RogersNov 3, 20194.0I went in to get a new serpentine belt for my Ford F150. There were 3 associates on duty at the time I went in. Only the manager greeted me. It was very quiet in the store (I don't remember even a radio playing) and all the associates seemed very somber. I gave him the Gates brand part number for the belt I needed, but they don't carry Gates. That was ok, though, I wasn't stuck on any particular brand. I knew they loaned tools and I asked him if he had a break over bar I could borrow. He said they didn't but that he had a serpentine belt removal tool that I could pay for/buy and once I was done with the project I could return it for full credit. Altogether the belt and tool set me back $84 and change. The service was efficient and knowledgeable, and as long as you don't go in expecting/needing an uplifting or energizing shopping experience you won't be disappointed.

Brakes work by using friction to turn kinetic energy into heat. There are two designs: drum brakes (older), and disc brakes (newer). Both use hydraulic pressure to move a piston outward.
