The device was installed Friday and haven't been able to crank since that evening. My battery won't stay charged, and have had a charger on it a while day. I've disconnected the blow piece and brought it inside due to extreme temperatures just like my notifications told me on Friday evening. Blew everyday since but no start had happened. My locks on my door no longer work either. Not sure what to do. I have to go to work but can't get there. This had not been a great experience for me since I've never had problems with my truck cranking or locks till now.

I scheduled an installation with Intoxalock and shortly after called to cancel/postpone. The representative, Hamilton, was rude and argumentative, insisted I couldn’t cancel, talked over me, and used a condescending tone, saying I’d “be back anyway.” I was willing to pay the no-show fee and re-sign up later, but the interaction alone made me choose another company. Very unprofessional sales person

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle.
