I had this installed 2 days ago it keeps saying I don’t blow hard enough I called the number on the back side of the box I had also gone to where it was installed to make sure I had the instructions right If I only had it for 1 day I don’t understand why I have to pay more It was my first day having it I just don’t understand why I have to pay anything extra I had another man from the Intoxalock call me just a second ago As soon as my car gets out of the Hyundai dealership He told me to call him so we could go over some breathing practices It’s at the dealership getting everything checked out because the last 2 days my car hasn’t be able to start The fist friend that jumped me off was my neighbor Then yesterday after I left the pharmacy I went to the dealership to get help for an app from my awesome friend there Then I left went to get gas and then my car would not start at all I have 4 or 5 people jump me off, it was never able to start My car is still at the dealership so whenever I get it back he said for me to call him and he would go over some breathing exercises with me. I so much hope that helps me ❤️🙏🙏❤️

Frequently Asked Questions About Intoxalock Ignition Interlock

How does an interlock device work?

An ignition interlock device (IID) is a small breathalyzer installed in your vehicle to prevent it from starting if alcohol is detected on your breath. Before driving, you'll blow into the device. If your breath alcohol concentration (BrAC) is below the programmed limit, the car starts. Periodic retests occur during your trip to ensure continued compliance. To read more on Intoxalock, you can read our ignition interlock device guide.

What is the cost of an ignition interlock device?

The installation of an ignition interlock device, often called a car breathalyzer, typically costs between $70 and $150. This one-time fee is paid at the start of your lease and covers the service center's labor to install the device in your vehicle. Payment is made directly to the service center at the time of installation. For more on cost breakdowns, you can read our cost of ignition interlock device guide.
