  My sales person was great but the way clay cooley advertises like a second chance dealer to get you through the door with a internet promo of 77$ down low car payment per month the salesman will say they work with over 49 banks but when I pulled my credit report you ran only 8so that wasn’t a fair chance on getting approved and false information to make these hard hits on your credit to still not get approved even though you make the money and have at least a 1k down still getting the run around on a 20k car is insane I spent a week back and fourth damaging my credit and still was turned away for some unforeseen reason I didn’t get the feel of a second chance dealership at all I feel more like a scam just to get people to come in and flip the prices and process of applying for any car etc. please get a better practice of dealing cars and stop false advertising you work with all credit profiles and down payments y’all wasted my time so bad…

  I’m not an easy person to impress or deal with but the team here over at Clay Cooley were great (Donny, Ryan, Lance, and Pastor). Lance ensured I walked away with the truck that was right for me. He definitely went above and beyond to make sure my wife and I were satisfied and ensured the payment made sense.

  I’m just going to be honest, DO NOT GO TO CLAY COOLEY IRVING, I really thought I was getting a good deal & the one thing I hate the most is to be LIED too. I never get a car without Gap insurance, it’s a me thing, it’s what I do to protect myself at all cost. I walked out that place FOR SURE I HAD IT. My sales person Darius said I had it, the financial advisor who took my down payment said I did have it. My car got completely totaled and then I find out I do not have it! Just a bunch of freaking lies.. they ran my credit like 7 times WITHOUT asking me I had to call and get it removed off my credit! The miles that was on my car wasn’t the miles listed on the paper.. it’s just so damn sad the way you can’t trust people these days, you would have way more customers and way more people coming back by word of mouth if you just do right because literally it’s not hard. It was a blessing in disguise that my car wrecked, I will be going to get me another car AND IT WILL NOT BE WITH THEM!!!!!!!!

  I suggest staying away from this dealer. They claim this with thier Clay Cooley Family Guarantee: "We never charge our customers for Dealer Adds, Market Adjustments, or hidden fees. The price that you see online is the price you pay for your new or used vehicle" This is NOT true. They try to stiff arm you into buying this "guarantee for 3 to 5 more years for $2000 or more dollars. There manager also told me they will not honor the online price unless you use their financing. I went their with an approved Chase auto loan and they would not take it. This is 100% illegal with the truth and lending laws in the state of Texas. The AI and sales people tell you want you want to hear to get you into the doors and then when your in the dealership, thats where the lies and deceit happen. Just save your time and money and shop somewhere else that cares about customer satisfaction and not gauging potential customers. It was a waste of serval hours. You've been warned. Cody was the sales person and he lied to me multiple times on the phone and at the dealership. UPDATE 3/22/2026: Carson Perot, Internet Sales Director emailed me from Clay Cooley and said they wanted to make things right on the above situation. He did say they would honor the online price + TTL and NO adds just like their Clay Cooley Family Guarantee stated. He sent me a new price sheet with the online price listed and they raised it $3626 from one day to the next!! It went from $44,274 to $47,900!! What kinda BS is that. I had proof what the price was on their website the day I went to drive and buy the truck. I sent all the photos and he didn't care. He said take it for the new price or they will just sell it auction. . People, Please stay as far away from this as you can. Shady sales tactics and managers that could care less about honoring this Clay Cooley famuly guarantee thats posted all over their websire as well as at every Clay Cooley website and dealership. I reported these crooks to the TXDMV for fraud and am calling Chevrolet Customer service in the morning to report this dealership. PLEASE dont buy anything from CLAY COOLEY dealerships. All of them. I wonder if Clay carees about this? I'm gonna do my best to find him and let him know this dealership is shaming his name. UPDATE 3/23/2026:Managers name was Preston Alred. The internet Director was Carson Perot and the sales person was Cody. Preston did nothing to help and was very condescening to me on our text messages, even saying something about my family who he knows nothing about. Carson also did nothing to help and Cody lied to me multiple times on the adds the forced on me. I just wanted to buy a car at the price I saw online with no dealer adds as their Family Guarantee states. That didnt happen. That family guarantee is bogus.

  Absolutely worst experience. Called for their advertised price online and was told that I could not purchase without Cooley Family guarantee of 2K plus. When I attempted to negotiate the Cooley family guarantee I was told there was no adjustments that could be done and mind you this was by the sales manager. My sales rep even said he has seen several times where the price was negotiated down to 995 and sometimes even off but the sales rep said this manager was trying to be a hard A, and didn’t feel like budging today despite new car sales being low. Clay Cooley advertises no add ons but that is exactly what that is, if someone does not want it then they should have to get it. Honor your advertised prices and let folks purchase, your real money is in pre owned and service, new car shouldn’t be that difficult. None the less, I went to Tim Clark in Denton and get a great deal with no add ons and similar price plus free spray in bed liner. Find a better dealership, Clay Cooley is horrible. Also, for Clay Cooley, before you look up my name, know that I always use a different name so I can’t be tracked if I go in person and negotiate a better deal with a different rep but you all completely blew it. My number will pull up the whole interaction if needed.
