Shame on me for not reviewing my invoice prior to paying it. I only noticed some questionable charges when I looked at my receipt later in the day. They quote and advertise a price for an oil change but upon checkout they tack on a $9.99 "shop charge" with no explanation. This feels like going to a restaurant and when your check comes they tack on a dishwashing fee. In addition, their business model is to upsell services, I get that. The cabin air filter is a classic. As part of their search for upcharges they access the air filter, pull it from the car, and present it to you where you can say yes or no. If you say yes and buy their inflated priced air filter, they install the new one and add a quarter of an hour in labor charges to your bill. There is zero more work involved for them if they install a new one. If you say no and they reinstall the old it is same amount if work and there is no charge added. I am not sure how they justify doing this or applying these charges.
