Nate was a great salesman! He was prepared for our appointment, very personable, and worked with us to make a deal on a car.
Be aware, the dealership does charge a mandatory accessory/VIP package that is higher than shown online. The car I bought had a dealership notice on CarGurus that the VIP package would be ~$900 but the actual price they gave me was almost $1,700. Like I said, they did make a deal that we were happy with but that accessory/VIP package is not well advertised online.

My son’s hand me down vehicle broke down for the last time on Friday. On Saturday thanks to the AMAZING help from Josh Cutler and Justin Bateman my son was able to get into something that day. Both these men made the process so easy. They made sure my son looked at every car he was interested in and explained everything in detail and no question unanswered. They made the process feel like he was buying a car from family instead of just a business transaction. Even while we were waiting multiple employees came up to us to ask if we needed anything and to congratulate my son on his new vehicle. I cannot recommend this top tier dealership enough! Shottenkirk is very lucky to have two men like Justin and Josh working for them!

Tyler made looking for a vehicle easy. He really listened to everything I had to say and was really specific on showing me things I wouldn't be interested in. He offered to help switch out plates and go above and beyond even let me use this phone charger. It was a great experience his sales manager was very nice. She came and helped Tyler and I out and worked with me to get the most for my trade in. Love my new ride and the fact Tyler didn't make me feel pressured he really wanted me to get something I loved.

Please know before you go: the online prices are nowhere near the actual cost. Once you arrive, you’ll find thousands of dollars in additional, non-negotiable fees (aside from standard title and tax) added on top of the listed price. The sales manager even confirmed these fees are unique to Shottenkirk and cannot be removed.
When I pointed out their poor reviews regarding this exact complaint, the manager discredited the BBB as “customer based” and instead claimed their Google rating was what mattered, an attitude that did nothing to build trust, as BBB is based on customer review and experience.
Just as many other reviewers have mentioned, the pricing is designed to get you in the door, only to dramatically inflate the final number. It felt misleading and frankly slimy. The sales associates were kind and not involved in pricing, but management was unwilling to work with me in any meaningful way. I was very willing to buy a car, and had to walk away for a dispute for a small amount. I honestly couldn’t leave fast enough.
Overall, this dealership needs far more transparent pricing and honest marketing. I would not buy a car from them.

Grab your coffee, this review might take a while to read but it will save you a ton of time that you would have wasted at Shottenkirk Toyota.
Personally I have wasted my time with them on two separate occasions now. Sales staff (Particularly James and Logan, don't want to throw David under the bus on this part) was so unhelpful that I had to follow up on their behalf to confirm availability of cars. It's like I had to sell myself the car. That is honestly the only nitpicky part of my review, because it only gets worse from here.
After they sold the first car I was interested in (without updating me) only hours before I was set to see it, I then came back a second time interested in another car of theirs. After reading tons of negative reviews about the exact same problems I was about to experience, I still gave them a second shot thinking we could come to a fair agreement on price after tons of research.
The car was a 2013 Kia Soul with 117k miles, KBB valued at 3500-4500, with dealer comps around 5500-6k. My salesman (David, seemed like a decent guy) brings us a sheet of paper with the sticker price ($6800) + over $1600 in "Accessories" fees including a "VIP Convenience" package which is basically like an extended warranty through them, which seems to be optional everywhere you look, until the end (we'll get to this later)
Oh and did I mention the car had damage to the hood not shown in pictures? After looking past that, didn't help that the backup camera wasn't working either (was shown working in pics)
Even without all of the fees they tried to slap on at the end, the baseline sticker price was already overpriced by at least $1000-$1500.
After haggling back and forth with my salesman for close to an hour, we agreed $6500 would be a fair out the door price with $1k down (again their sticker price for this car was $6800) He comes back with his General Manager (Gracie Judy), who I can only presume was already well-informed that I was well-informed, because her attitude suggested she was already done with me before she sat down.
She tells me (lies) how the car is priced based on the fair value (Over market by 2.3k?) within a 250 mile radius and tried her best to make me feel insane for offering $6.5k on a $4.5k car (which is insane...insanely in her favor) and we all know very well that they did not pay even $2k for this car to the person who traded it in. She was acting like I was personally starving them by not accepting their 150%+ profit margin on the vehicle.
Anyway don't worry it still get's worse.
She then tells me that the VIP convenience package comes with all of their cars and cannot be removed, as if it were actually welded onto the frame of the vehicle.
Even if so, that only accounts for $900 of their over $1600 in "accessories" fees, so then I asked, what is "Government fees" for $300? Mind you, this was listed as an additional fee separate from tax (6.25%) and title transfer (Which is $33 in Texas). Any other fees are made up and not necessary.
Gracie seemed to have some difficulty coming up with a reasonable explanation for the mysterious misc. govt. fee but managed to sputter out some nonsense about "bridge fees and whatnot" and brushed it off as not mattering anyway, as I was more than $2500 off from their out the door price.
Needless to say, it was at that moment I decided to put an end to the blatant disrespect and stood up and walked away.
You know how they say Vegas wasn't built on winners? Well neither was this place.
If you're dumb enough to do business with them, I guess you deserve it. For the rest of us, I went through it so you don't have to.
God bless
P.S. To David and the new trainee if you're reading this, the reason you didn't get a commission is purely because your GM is greedy and would rather let an overpriced car sit on the lot and waste both of our time then sell it at a fair price to a young couple with good credit and cash. Remember that as you continue to waste more of your youth at this establishment.
P.P.S. To readers: This place bots reviews so check Reddit.
