The attendant politely confirmed my suspicion and apologized. As I waived back at her saying no worries and began to back out, a fellow attendant (likely the manager) waived me back and said he’d take care of me. So I pulled back up and started to hand him my cash, but he said to keep your money, just remember your card next time! I couldn’t have been more excited and thanked him profusely! Even as I pulled around the drive, all the other employees waived as I drove by and it was just so pleasant. It’s customer service like that that puts a little bit of my faith back in humanity.
