  I called ahead when my flight was cancelled and gave them my new flight which wouldn't get in until close to 1am. I was assured they would track my flight and stay open until I arrived. Well that didn't happen and they were closed.

  I flew from Atlanta to Houston with my 75-year-old mother for her medical appointment at MD Anderson Cancer Center. We left home at 4AM. I had been awake for over 24 hours. I was exhausted, stressed, and caring for my sick mother who uses a wheelchair. I am a loyal customer who has rented from Alamo, National and Enterprise regularly for over 10 years and always pay with a credit card. The week of this trip I was the victim of credit card fraud and had to cancel all of my cards. The replacement debit card was the only card I had available when we departed Atlanta at 4AM. I had a confirmed reservation to rent a vehicle to transport my mother to her appointments. Station Manager Ty Sealy refused to honor it citing a 24-hour advance flight booking rule. When I asked him to show me this policy in writing he texted me a link to Alamo’s own published debit card policy page — which contains absolutely no such requirement. When I pointed this out, Ty Sealy admitted — in person — that requiring a return flight to be booked more than 24 hours before arrival at IAH is a verbal policy that their compliance manager Michael R. Guisler forces team members to enforce. It is not written anywhere. Not in their published policy. Not in their terms. Nowhere. He was rude and dismissive throughout. I offered to book a return flight at the counter on the spot — refused. I offered a deposit — refused. I offered to show my 10 year rental history with their brands — refused. I offered medical documentation of my mother’s appointment — refused. After 2 hours we left with no car. My mother went to her MD Anderson cancer appointment in an Uber. I escalated to Enterprise Holdings CEO Chrissy Taylor directly. I filed complaints with the BBB and the Texas Attorney General. I have contacted them publicly on social media repeatedly. It has been 3 days. No resolution. No real response. Just corporate scripts and silence. Ty Sealy texted me the proof that his own policy doesn’t exist. That text message is preserved. Do not rent here if you are traveling for medical care. They will leave you stranded.

  Ty Sealy with National went above and beyond to help me find a vehicle and returning the vehicle at my preferred destination, Baton Rouge Airport. I will be using Alamo/National going forward, as I have had nothing but problems from one of your competitors, Hertz. I appreciated the great service and look forward to doing business with you guys often, as I travel for work quite frequently.

  Whole experience with Alamo was amazing! I missed a connecting flight and needed a car to San Antonio quickly; Tyler B. Was professional, kind, and had great energy getting me set up with a car. Of the options at IAH, Alamo was the best call by far!
