  Alamo Rent A Car in Houston Hobby Airport is near the airport in a remote location like all the other rental car companies. The Alamo Rent-A-Car is together with its sister company National Car Rental in the same location and uses the same shuttle buses. The check-in counters are next to each other but you can check in at the National Car Rental counter if there is no agent available at the Alamo counter. They have 3-4 shuttle buses that go between the airport and the rental car lot. My wait time for the shuttle bus is about 15 minutes. The driver was very nice and the agent at the check-in counter was helpful.

  This was possibly my very first time renting from Alamo and I was pleasantly surprised. The service that I received from Hanna and Titus at Houston Hobby Airport was top notch. They provided information about the area, things to do, places to eat and useful information like not leaving things visible because it could make my vehicle a target. They literally treated me like family. Last but definitely not least Titus and Hanna helped me get my luggage to the car and Titus helped to load it into my vehicle. This is well beyond the call of duty and although I don't expect this every time I rent a car, it definitely left a lasting impression on me and created a sense of loyalty.

  Usual lack of transparency nonsense. I booked a car on Priceline, 86 dollars for a full sized sedan for 14 hours of my trip time on March 27th. Get to the counter and ask if there's a nicer car than the Camry available.. they have a bmw 3 series "for an additional 26 dollars". Sure I'll take it. My mistake, I didn't pay attention to the charges and took their word.. gave them my credit card. Ofcourse they charged 108 dollars on top of the 86 I had paid for whatever optionals... I hate it but I'm not looking to trash them on reviews, whatever. Today I got yet another email... 6 dollars for toll, 4.75 service charge. So my 86 dollar rental is now over 200 dollars. Ofcourse my fault for not treating them like crooks. But the review is to reflect that they act like crooks and warrant that behavior from customers.

  I was very impressed with the great customer service that was much better than most car rentals. I travel often and car rentals experience is typically not pleasant. From the counter pick up experience then at the exit gate Arely Alaniz was so attentive and pleasant I even told her "You guys are so different and care here I never rented from National before". Then when I returned Erin Silva Aranza was so helpfu! I had an issue with TSA and the drop off time. She cared and helped me. You have an exceptional team there at Hobby and I will rent from you guys again as my preferred from now on! Thank you!

  The only reason for giving them a 4 star despite of the fact that they didn't have my car ready at the booked time 3PM, I had to go from Hobby to IAH wasting 3 hours to get the car. Is because there is a human loop in the chain of events that make your life a bit easy. THANK YOU Remy Green - he is the branch manager and is available from Mon-Fri only. After learning that I've been patiently waiting for 45 minutes, he got into action. Made a few phone calls and got my car ready but at IAH and not at hobby. He then got me an uber to get there as well. Although, it was branch's fault of not keeping the inventory, despite of me calling them upfront after the booking. It is ppl like Remy who always try and find a solution. Yes, partly it was on me on going to IAH and spending that time (but no appreciation required for that). At the IAH - met with Leo at the counter who was super helpful and got me out with the car (in this case jeep wagoneer) in no time. I was able to return the car at hobby though without any hassles! Thank you again Leo and Remy!
