He was very honest and not trying to upsell me for more work. I agreed to the brakes and alignment and now it feels like a different car I’m driving! My car is much safer for me and my family and I owe that to Jeremy and his great crew at Brakes Plus in Garland!
- NKN KJan 1, 20261.0I went in for a state inspection and oil change. During the visit, I was shown that the coolant reservoir tank was leaking and was told it needed to be replaced. While they did show me the issue, I wasn’t fully certain about the cause at the time and trusted their recommendation. After reviewing the invoice later, I was surprised by the total coolant-related charges, which came to around $240. This included separate charges for the reservoir, labor, antifreeze at $41?, and a full coolant exchange. In hindsight, that total feels excessive for a coolant reservoir replacement, which typically requires minimal labor and does not usually require a full coolant exchange. I wish there had been clearer explanation about what was necessary versus optional before approval. I recommend other customers ask detailed questions and request written estimates before agreeing to additional services.

They showed me where I needed some front strut work done, quoted me 2 grand, put my tires back on and I left. Between then and Christmas day I drove the truck twice to my mom's house, total 300 miles. On the way home Christmas night all the bolts came off my rear driver's side tire making the whole tire and rims come off, going down the freeway at 70 mph. It was axil to concrete and a potentially deadly situation. Called AAA and the guy said tire was mounted wrong. We got the truck home and then I went to brakes plus. They kept the truck 3 days and then their regional manager denied responsibility claiming ctv showed proper procedures were followed. I don't see how those bolts could have come off unless wheel was mounted wrong. Took truck across street to my usual mechanic and he could fix it for 300.00. he is doing the strut work for 600.00 not 2 grand. Judge for your self before using brakes plus.
